If you ever have an interest in the 600+ songs of Franz Schubert, in the 37 disk Hyperion Schubert Edition, accompanist Graham Johnson analyzes each song in the liner notes.

Woohoo!!! Great news, Drumbo...you have to get your foot “in the door”. ((HUGS))

And REST!

I shop a lot at amazon because things show up on my doorstep and Prime actually believes Alaska is in the USofA.

Today was ugly!!! Got to work just fine, but a half hour later freezing rain started falling. They let us all go early, but it took me quite a while to be able to leave. Went out to start my car, spikies on my feet as the parking lot was a sheet of ice. My car was encased in ice. Couldn’t get the ice scraper to even work. Back inside, work some more, back outside, finally able to scrape a little ice...repeat twice more. Driving was not fun, and it started to snow as I drove home. All you could hear was all the cars running and folks trying to scrape the ice off the windows so we could see.

I worked on a number of Schubert's lieder when I was studying voice. Over six hundred songs and I've never heard a bad one among them!

"An Sylvia" Fritz Wunderlich

Sadly, Fritz died much too young - a sterling Tenor!

“Everyone but you and Boss #2. ~~snicker~~”

Unfortunately, Boss # 2 is no longer with us.

I mention this not for empathy or sympathy.

There is a company of three, female veterinarians who perform home euthanasia.

One of the vets came to the house, explained everything to us then gave to Boss $ 2 a light sedative.

She let the dog lay on her mommy’s lap throughout this ordeal. After ten minutes or so she gave to the dog an injection and a few seconds later Boss # 2 went to the Rainbow Bridge.

Afterward the female vet wrapped Boss # 2 in a blanket and took her to the crematorium.

I was totally unaware that there was such a service. It blew me away. Apparently, they are the only ones here that offer such a service.

The Schlegel brothers pulled off a major feat in the early 19th Century when they translated Shakespeare into German and kept the meter and the bawdy Renaissance wordplay intact. Schubert set a number of the Schlegel’s Shakespeare settings to music knowing that they could also be sung in English. He was thinking of an international publication effort, which was a smart commercial move. Unfortunately, he had been dead for decades when this finally came about.
