I saw a TV report on this. Pretty neat, but very expensive ($5000 per each unit installed)....shoots out of the front bumper behind a flap door.

It looks like the cop has to get about 20-25’ from the perp to fire it.

This is not the same TV report, but you can get the gist of what it does. They say in this spot the cost is $250 each and good for one use. This is just for the projectile.
The tracking stuff and launcher are in the other range I mentioned.

This is not a new idea.

I saw a news report, about 25 years ago, where cops cut a hole in the floor of their cop car, and set off a homemade rocket propelled devise designed to “short out” the electronics of the speeding car ahead. You had to get close, but it worked.
