I’d answer simply no. They have no business asking, no reason for knowing. I’ve dealt with “need to know” and opsec for nearly 30 years of my professional career. I have no qualms about withholding information.

I got the same nosy-ass questions in my Medicare welcome visit. One question asked if I had railings on both sides of my staircase. I answered no and asked them if they were going to pick up the cost of installing it.

Nurse at my son’s pediatrician asked “the gun question” the other day. I said that I refuse to answer. Nurse goes out in a huff. Doctor comes in and said “You refused to answer that so we just put you down as a yes.”

My suggestion is that everyone should just say “no”, calmly, and let it go.
