I lived in Mexico City for two years and in Saudi Arabia for five years.
Go live in those places for a week. You will stop bad-mouthing the USA and its "rules and regulations" pretty quick.
Easy to pick apart what you have and don't like. Try living in China, India, Kenya or Egypt for....a week, no for a day, no for 10 minutes. ;o)
I've been to all those places. God bless America and all its rules and regulations!
Did you miss the part where this was warrantless and performed on the part of the NHTSA for the purported purpose of a study? You mentioned places where law enforcement agencies are capricious. Did you miss the irony?
Moral relativism isn't much of an argument for accepting evil.
Although you are correct about other countries, our rights and freedoms are not graded on how much worse anywhere else is. Our rights are our rights, not some abstract based on a comparison with a 3rd world country, or any other country for that matter.
The fact that most of the world sucks does not make fascist infringement of our Constitutionally enumerated rights any less heinous. The reason I say enumerated is because it does not give us our rights, it simply states them and restricts the authority of the government to infringe. upon them.
You know nothing about the U.S. Constitution. In fact, I doubt you are even a U.S. citizen and you definitely are not a constitutional conservative.
This is a blatant violation of 4th amendment rights and if it is allowed to stand will be one more step on the road to serfdom. You should really be ashamed covering for these guys. Nazis and Communists had lots and lots of rules and regulations, and were very orderly. I hope you wouldn’t say that is a reason to support what they did! (Although, as I said, this is a VIOLATION of our country’s ultimate set of rules and regulations, our constitution.)
And by the way, the same thing happened in Alabama and the “Study” was discovered to be linked to George Soros and the TIDES foundation, one of the most evil, progressive/communist promoting organizations in the country. Maybe you support George Soros and the TIDES foundation? Maybe you work for them?

We don’t measure right or wrong here by comparing our police to Saudi or Mexican police.
That’s like saying you’ll tolerate your wife kissing the neighbor by pointing out how much worse street prostitutes are.
There is an American standard of civil rights. Anything short of that needs to meet very energetic resistance.
“Go live in those places for a week.”
You assume much. I lived abroad for many years. And I agree, it’s rather the eye opener. Especially when you see so many things that you didn’t like coming to your own country.
You’re barking up the wrong tree.
Unless we PUSH BACK on all attempts to infringe upon our freedom, WE WILL BECOME Mexico or Saudi Arabia sooner or later.
