FReepers are often incensed at the practice of anchor babies and illegal immigrant children, and yet, want an illegal immigrant forcefully kept in the U.S., against his father’s wishes no less.
I don’t get it.
I think it was as much the manner of the taking of Elian, with SWAT teams and submachine guns that t’d people off.
And, then again many Cubans in America view every person who can leave there as a victory against the evil Castro brothers.
It’s odd that he holds the USA somehow responsible, it’s Cuba that has policies that force people onto rickety boats to escape. His mother made that choice because Cuba sucks. Americans who want to go to Cuba traditionally take jets from Canada or Mexico. If you want to boat to Cuba you can, no one in Miami is going to stop you, and you’ll have the choice of many thousands of very seaworthy boats to use and all the gas or diesel you need at market prices.
He will never be allowed to leave Cuba, at least till the regime falls.
You mean against Castro’s wishes. Until it became world news his father didn’t care.
You don’t get the differences between Cuba and Mexico?
Cubans are legal as soon as they touch US soil. In case you weren’t aware.
Don’t like the law? Change it.
You make an excellent point!
He is now free to live in a communist state for as long as he wishes. His next journey across the pond will not be held so kindly in the freedom loving hearts of Americans.
Elian’s dad was as much of a puppet as Elian now is in Cuba.
Now do you get it?
Before the clampdown on the dad, there were conversations between the dad and the Miami relatives indicating his desire for Elian to remain and live in America.
It really sickened me that so many “conservatives” called for the return of Elian to his father proving that even conservatives can be clueless about communism.
I dont get it.
What part of escaping-Communism-for-freedom don't you understand?
>> I dont get it.
Maybe Ted Cruz could explain.
I won't comment on your obvious misunderstanding of escaping a communist hellhole and turd third Mexico
I will comment on Elian father....
You do understand he was forced by Castro under extreme duress...
“I dont get it.”
Guess not.
