Wal-Mart Says ACA Could Hurt Holiday Spending
Fox Business ^ | November 18, 2013 | Kate Rogers

Looks like the Affordable Care Act has another potential critic: Wal-Mart.

The discount retail giant mentioned the ACA as a potential factor that will hurt consumer spending this holiday season on an analysts press call Thursday.

"While it is not coming through in customer research, we do know that some of our customers are concerned about the impact of the Affordable Care Act," Carol Schumacher, vice president of investor relations said, according to the Wall Street Journal. "For many of our customers, having to afford health care and insurance may be another line item in their personal budget that they may not have had to cover previously."

Will the Obozoscare cost to the average American have a negative impact on Christmas this year?

I read over at ZeroHedge that WalMart has a $97 32” LG flat panel on sale. Conceivably, the monthly cable bill could cost more than the entire tv. And you don’t have to put up with all the disease and waits at the doctors office.

The uncertainty alone could kill Christmas.

Meanwhile the Left has its panties in a bunch because Wal-Mart encouraged a little employee to employee charity.

Doesn’t everybody already have all the big-screen TVs and Gadgets they need?

Heck, the iPads and iPhones people bought several years ago should still be “good enough.”

My insurance only went up 6%, but I think that is due to an odd local competitive situation here in Pittsburgh (Highmark and UPMC having a full-on very public mudfight over access to UPMC’s network, which the State may ultimately step in and referee).

Once that is settled I expect our rates to begin skyrocketing like the rest of the nation.

We’re spending as little as possible to maintain the necessities. Even our daughter, who is in college, has gotten into the act. When her cell phone’s touch screen refused to accept touch commands recently (no damage to the phone), rather than get the latest and greatest cell phone and another 2 year agreement, she wanted for the same, somewhat out-of-date phone. It’s functional and she likes the separate keyboard for text messaging. Found a new (old stock) one for $59.

Mine went down to zero. My wife and I have become young invincibles...even though we are 60. ;-)

“The uncertainty alone could kill Christmas.”

Exactly!

A lot of people thought that their medical insurance costs would stay the same or decrease, if they paid attention to Herr Obozo and his mediots in love with him.

Now they are starting to wake up and sense the realities.

Walmart also needs to be made to understand that supporting amnesty will also cause reduced spending in their stores.

I broke down last week and bought a big screen TV, but it was the first TV I had bought for myself in 16 years.

Hopefully it will last me a while.

Walmart is worried to the point they are almost giving away flat screens:

Wal-Mart Touts $98 TV in Weakest Holiday Season Since ’09

Wal-Mart Stores Inc. is dangling a 32-inch flat-screen TV for $98, down from $148 last year.

Another way to look at this: this might possibly be the last Christmas MANY people can afford to celebrate. PERIOD!
