Just when you think things can't get much worse with Obamacare, another shoe drops. Correction: This thing has enough dropping shoes to fully fit a centipede.
That Obama deliberately lied (please excuse the redundancy, but it is apparently necessary to clarify one's meaning in this postmodern age) in telling people they could keep their plans and doctors is now beyond dispute. He and his handlers have tried to obfuscate the issue with further deception but have fallen way short of passing the laugh test.
Some liberals have taunted me on Twitter that all politicians lie. Well, that certainly ends the inquiry, does it not? Forever after, we'll yield to this cynical pronouncement and decline to hold any politicians accountable. Perhaps we should dispense with all moral codes altogether, because we're all sinners.
Of course, anyone who makes these kinds of arguments advertises himself as too intellectually dishonest to be taken seriously. Do you think any of these people would so casually excuse a person lying to them in their personal or business lives about an important matter?
So from the perspective of those of us in the real world, Obama has himself in quite a pickle.
The entire country -- at least that portion that is not brain dead or brainwashed -- knows Obama lied to all Americans to deceive them into supporting his plan for the government to absorb one-sixth of the economy.
In his non-apology ("it's on me, but I'll be darned if I'm going to give an inch in my fervent obsession to impose socialized medicine on you"), Obama dug himself a deeper hole. He told us that only some 5 percent of the American people would lose their plans. Most people, he assured us, get health insurance through their employer and won't be affected.
He wants us to forget that he demanded we change the entire health care system for a smaller percentage of Americans than that -- those 8 million to 10 million who not only can't afford health insurance but also don't qualify for any government assistance -- as I've noted before. Five percent is an insignificant number when Obama has directly caused their harm, but 3 percent is astronomical when it serves his purpose of advancing statism.
Too bad for Obama that his problems don't end with this inconsistency, which exposes his hypocrisy and opportunism. He was lying about the 5 percent figure, as well.
We've already seen a number of news stories reporting that the administration knew that Obamacare would force far more than 5 percent of Americans out of their plans. But my friend Andy McCarthy has just put the final nails in this coffin, in his latest piece for National Review (http://www.nationalreview.com/article/364176/obamas-5-percent-con-job-andrew-c-mccarthy/page/0/1).
Andy refers to Obama's latest excuse as the "5 percent" con job. In the first place, the individual health care market is not 5 percent but 8 percent. This additional 3 percent is probably some 10 million more Americans. No big deal, right?
But that's not the half of it -- literally. Andy notes that the administration's internal estimates have shown, for at least three years, as reported in the Federal Register, that most of the 156 million Americans covered by employer plans will also lose their coverage under Obamacare. He adds that the administration also let the cat out of the bag in a letter to state insurance commissioners, wherein it admitted that small businesses -- not just "individuals" -- would be among those whose plans would be canceled.
Just in case the administration tries to worm out of these latest damning revelations, Andy presents another one that should put such disingenuous denials finally to rest. In a brief submitted to the federal district court in Washington by Obama's Department of Health and Human Services in a case over the conscience clause (another matter poisoned by Obama's abject deception), the administration conceded that "even under the grandfathering provision," it is estimated that "a majority of group health plans will have lost their grandfather status by the end of 2013." Point. Game. Set. Match.
In the meantime, on ABC's "This Week" on Sunday, Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, D-N.Y., outright admitted that Obama's "keep your plan" promises were false. She said: "We all knew. The whole point of the plan is to cover things people need, like preventive care, birth control, pregnancy."
So, you see, the entire national Democratic Party apparatus has conspired to deceive Americans about a vital matter -- their own health care -- in order to advance its agenda.
You still think this is just about health care? Well, another Democratic leader, Rep. James Clyburn of South Carolina, admitted that with Obamacare, what Democrats are "trying to do is change a values system in our country."
That pretty much sums up modern liberalism as embodied in the Democratic Party. Come hell or high water, Democrats will coerce us, via the power of the federal government, into thinking and believing as they do and living under their utopian Leviathan state.
Obamacare must be repealed -- yesterday.
“Now”
We are five days away from fundamentally transforming the United States of America. Barack Obama, October 30, 2008
We are going to have to change our conversation; were going to have to change our traditions, our history; were going to have to move into a different place as a nation. Michelle Obama, May 14, 2008
This is why he lied and will continue to lie.
The Democrat hardcore is still a strong coalition of Godless Communists, anti-Constitution Socialists, Welfare parasites, perverts, race baiters, baby killers, pseudo intellectual elitists, illegal aliens, and other assorted criminals who still constitute 47% of American voters (many of whom vote multiple times), so this Obama Care fiasco has done little to dampen their political power.
Yes, it must. But, as you pointed out in your book last year, the train left the station in November when the majority of the voters decided it was better to vote themselves largesse from the public Treasury, and reelected Obastard.
Even if the Republicans captured both houses of Congress (they didn't), Obastard will never sign the repeal act.

That would seem to be a truism. It does seem impossible to invision Obama signing away His Legacy.
But consider this not impossible scenario:
In 2014 cancellations continue to pile up an an accelerating rate. Obamacare signups lag far behind due largely to its unaffordability for large portions of the public. The number of uninsured Americans rises rapidly throughout 2014 as we head into the midterm elections.
In the 2014 election Democrats suffer historic losses - losing the Senate to the GOP while watching the Republicans add to their majority in the House.
Moving into 2015 and looking forward to the 2016 election the polls predict an even bigger train wreck looms ahead for the Dems - near certain loss of the Presidency. The public favors repeal by a 60/40 margin.
....
OK, that’s pretty rosy but it could happen and it would set the stage for Obama signing off on repeal.
So, I know obama lies, continually. Yet I too believe we have not begun to see the real damage that will be caused by obamacare. The ripple effects and secondary systemic effects on the complex system that is our economy are going to be terrible. I too believe we haven't seen the worst of obama's lies exposed - yet. I am still holding out hope that we may yet see him in an orange prison jumpsuit.
Do you really think Obastard cares if the Dems keep the Presidency after he leaves? I don’t. No, he’d drive everything right off a cliff before he undoes his Big Effing Deal.

No, he probably doesn’t care. What is does care about, however, is the billions he expects to receive after leaving office. That money is going to come from the big Dem donors who will, IMHO, call the shots in 2015-2016. and they care a lot about who gets elected in the next Presidential election.
But even if I’m only half right the political theater will be a delight. Dems fighting Dems is so entertaining.
States: Start forming infantry divisions.....
the big mistake (okay, i miscounted mistakes) of the admin is that while they pushed this out past next years elections companies will be having the discussion well before said elections. There will be a storm across the nation when this happens.
Oh, Heck yeah! I'm stocking up on popcorn and butter.
Liars lie. Liars continue to lie (often to cover for their prior lies). LIBs/DIMS are liars. LIBs/DIMs continue to lie.
Sadly, the way to get the younger liberals to understand the true meaning of the deception is to present them with a comparison they can relate to. Example; Would you stand still and dismiss the lie if Xbox got you to buy their system only to bring it home and find out that it is incompatible with your television set? Would it be okay for them to tell you after the purchase that you must now buy their overpriced television set that only plays their games?
Then keep the lying rats out of elected office for the next decade.
They promised "the most ethical congress ever" in 2006.
They promised "an end to the culture of corruption that rises to the top ranks of the (opposition) party" in 2006.
They promised "transparency" and a full posting of all legislation 3 days prior to vote in 2008.
They promised "a new way".
If none of it mattered because "all politicians lie" then toss the lying bastards out on their asses and bar the door.
True. The man's a committed Socialist. Nothing's more important to him than moving the Commie agenda forward, despite the political cost.
I think a bill to repeal Obamacare would have to pass both houses with a veto proof majority.
Yep. I saw that same thing mentioned elsewhere today. The cancellation notices will be going out in October 2015, right before the midterm elections.
The national conversation about the cancellation of employer insurance plans will be ongoing even before that.
That was an enormous 'whoops' on the regime's part.
BTTT!
