It would be smart politics, in my opinion, for the Democrats to say, this is such a mess, let’s repeal and start over.
Democrats are going to continue to get hammered through Election Day 2014 and beyond with all of the issues with Obamacare.
If that happens, it would put us back to square one. But, we never had a good honest debate in this country about healthcare. Instead we had Democrats ram it through with questionable parliamentary procedures. It would have been nice to have an honest debate about what’s wrong with health insurance in this country, and perhaps make some changes, without having rammed through some huge bloated Frankenstein monster of “reform” which we are stuck with.
If Republicans win in 2014, the Democrats will vote to repeal and campaign against the GOP version of healthcare in 2016.
Dems will indeed be hammered because millions got cancelled and offered a crap sandwich. By November of next year it will still be a crap sandwich.
Republicans must now take the lead on the replace part of "repeal and replace".
The late Margaret Thatcher is credited as saying, “Socialism works until you run out of other peoples’ money.”
In THIS case it can’t GET other peoples’ money................
The whole reason Democrats are able to hold power is their hypnotic ability to cloud their followers' vision. A Democrat who acknowledges that Obama is less than perfect would risk having his followers escape their mind fog. Better to explain that Obama lied because lying to give the people what they need is good, than to admit that he lied because he's a no-good con man. What I'd like to see from some of the Republicans would be a hammering of the point that the Democrats who are so "shocked" by Obamacare's failings could not reasonably have been unware of them when they passed it. Either they were in on the whole scheme, or else they were grossly derelict in their duties to vet the legislation that was put before them. In neither case do they deserve re-election.
