Subpoenas hit allies of Scott Walker as his re-election campaign looms.
Americans learned in the IRS political targeting scandal that government enforcement power can be used to stifle political speech. Something similar may be unfolding in Wisconsin, where a special prosecutor is targeting conservative groups that participated in the battle over Governor Scott Walker's union reforms.
In recent weeks, special prosecutor Francis Schmitz has hit dozens of conservative groups with subpoenas demanding documents related to the 2011 and 2012 campaigns to recall Governor Walker and state legislative leaders.
Copies of two subpoenas we've seen demand "all memoranda, email . . . correspondence, and communications" both internally and between the subpoena target and some 29 conservative groups, including Wisconsin and national nonprofits, political vendors and party committees. The groups include the League of American Voters, Wisconsin Family Action, Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce, Americans for ProsperityWisconsin, American Crossroads, the Republican Governors Association, Friends of Scott Walker and the Republican Party of Wisconsin.
One subpoena also demands "all records of income received, including fundraising information and the identity of persons contributing to the corporation." In other words, tell us who your donors are.
The probe began in the office of Milwaukee County Assistant District Attorney Bruce Landgraf, though no one will publicly claim credit for appointing Mr. Schmitz, the special prosecutor. The investigation is taking place under Wisconsin's John Doe law, which bars a subpoena's targets from disclosing its contents to anyone but his attorneys. John Doe probes work much like a grand jury, allowing prosecutors to issue subpoenas and conduct searches, while the gag orders leave the targets facing the resources of the state with no way to publicly defend themselves.

NJ still has a deficit, Wisconsin a surplus. The base will support Walker but not Christie. I think Christie would have an easier time wining the Dem nomination as a matter of fact.
I agree on Wisconsin vs NJ as to the respective governors.
I know that Christie would perform better in the northeast corridor but i don’t see him actually taking any of those states.
Last thing is i also believe that Christie stands a better shot in Pa.
My point precisely.
Last thing is i also believe that Christie stands a better shot in Pa.
Today perhaps, but in a national campaign, I doubt it.
Shallow graves. In Amerika, the political elites bury their political enemies a full 6 feet down.
I guess it would be unsanitary to leave them all in Fort Marcy Park
I will never vote for Christie. I am tired of RINOs.
He has to borrow Tokyo Rove's white chart board and get on TV and outline EVERYTHING that's being done to him and his supporters....and EVERY PERSON and EVERY conservative organization being targeted by the libs, radicals, Dems, unions, commie Madison academia and leftist judiciary and law enforcement scum plus all the rest of the Gestapo involved in this plot against him.
They must be exposed at every turn or else all Scott's supporting donors, organizations and volunteers will be cowed into disappearing into the woodwork which is the whole point.
Learn from that human pinata, GWB! Take the fight TO THEM, Governor, expose them....and beat them into little stinky cheese rinds!

“I’m sorry, gentlemen. All of those records were lost in a terrible fire. I tried to save them, but they all went up in smoke. Nope - I don’t have any computer records. The computers were destroyed in the fire. Back ups? What back ups? I’m no computer guy. I just work here.”
One of these days and I don’t think long, the little people are going to get enough and then all hell is going to break out.
I agree. Read the whole thing.
This is nasty, nasty stuff.
We still have toilet paper. For now.
so far, so good
Yes, he is for immigration reform. In 2010 he spoke in favor of Arizona’s immigration bill. Now he says he supports a “legal pathway” but no one can seem to get much clarity out of him as to what he really means. In other words, he may want to run for prez.
I like and support Scott Walker for WI. He is doing good work here but I would not support him for President with his current language re: immigration.
There is already a legal pathway, go home and apply for it.
Nut-job Conspiracy Theory Ping!
To get onto The Nut-job Conspiracy Theory Ping List you must threaten to report me to the Mods if I don't add you to the list...
Bananas. The only banana farm in the contiguous States shut down a few years back.
That makes me sad.
Was it the Chinese again??
no it was a sovereign issue
Travis, take note. Those damnable JEWS with their political organizing and campaigning and such.
So what’s the take-out here? RATS are more afraid of Walker running than Cruz?
