WILLISTON, N.D. – The entire U.S. Williston Basin produced more than 1 million barrels of oil per day in September, driven by another record month of North Dakota oil production. North Dakota produced 931,940 barrels per day, a 2 percent increase over August, according to preliminary numbers released Friday by the Department of Mineral Resources.
The U.S. Williston Basin also includes portions of South Dakota, which produced 5,017 barrels per day in September, and Montana, which produced 75,460 barrels per day in August.

Bakken oil production in North Dakota and Montana is projected to top 1 million barrels of oil per day in December, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration. That estimate does not include production from other formations

About 61 percent of North Dakota’s total 9,682 producing wells are Bakken and Three Forks wells, he said. The Bakken now accounts for a little more than 10 percent of total U.S. oil production, according to the EIA.

No wonder gas prices are plummeting at a record rate. Heck at this pace, gas in my area may soon approach $3.50/gal regular. Woo Hoo! NOT! Let’s build some damn refineries.

That’s an amazing number - consider that one of the largest US refineries, the BP Whiting Indiana one, can process 400,000 barrels per day. Williston is putting out more than twice what a big refinery can handle.
And if you search “Niobrara Shale”, there’s some very interesting new shale potential in the Denver-Julesberg basin as well. The small independents are going gangbusters and all Obama can do is sic the EPA after them with false scare tactic about fracking to try to keep us enslaved to foreign oil or his wind-and-solar wet dreams.

I was hanging out with some Canadian engineers working on the oil sands in Alberta.
One complained to the American vendor that the fastener did not meet the revised spec. The American said he had no such revision.The Canuck, who was young and never said Eh? said I emailed it to you , The American with rising voice said I didn’t get it.
Ths Canadian boss wanting to reduce the heat said..... “I’m pretty sure Obama stopped it at the border”

Our family lived for 3 1/2 years in Williston—My husband is a retired oil man.
At the time we were there, the population was about 1500 people—and most of them were the salt of the earth types.
We loved it there, although it was cold, especially for us Texans.
One of our children was born there. We have kept touch with a lot of our friends—one is due to visit us here in Texas in April.
I don’t have any desire to go back—I want to remember it as the sleepy little town it was back in the day.
I’m happy for them though—a lot of our friends have become millionaires from this oil play. It couldn’t have happened to nicer folks.
John Batchelor had a show a long time ago…a farmer up there got his royalty check and though the oil company made a mistake…it was something like 50,000a month and the farmer though it was only going to be 5,000….
LOL! Actually, the prices in Reno, Nv are down to around 3.37/gal for regular 10% pop-corn gas. Oddly enough, 25 miles south of us in Carson City the prices are about 20 cents lower. County taxes? Who knows. Purty durn sad when you get excited for gas prices to be under $3.50/gal. (See my tag line)
Name is somewhat misleading as site was started out to show mistakes, goof-ups, and sometimes miserable/comical living and work conditions.
It still features that kind of thing but has become a kind of ongoing chronicle of the nearly indescribable constant grinding dangerous toil that goes on in the Bakken.
The hottest we have ever been is while we lived in Williston. Those houses are built so tight—and there’s no air conditioning. The temp can actually reach 100 degrees for a few days.
Summer didn’t last long—the joke used to be that we hoped summer came on a weekend so we could have a picnic.
Our windows also had “storm windows” in addition to the regular windows, and it took a while to figure out how to remove those outer windows.
I used to think ceiling fans would be nice—and even jokingly talked about opening a ceiling fan store.
On the other side of the coin, we lived across the street from the grade school, and every winter they would grade out some dirt to make a skating pond. They would flood it in late November, and it would stay frozen until the spring thaw.
Two of our kids were old enough to learn how to ice skate a bit—they were 5 and 6 at the time. We bought them some skates and they would go over and try to skate—and I could keep an eye on them from my warm house by looking out the window......
I wonder how long it will be before OBOBGO takes credit?????

It’s the rat pivot. They are going to run on bringing gas prices and other prices down. Of course the fact prices went up because of them will go into the memory hole.
Think that through.
That’s 100 million dollars a day for ND.
3 billion dollars a month.
36 billion a year.
If the EPA stopped trying to crucify industry America would be growing 5 percent a year easy.
