A full-time professor [Mary Margaret “Meg” Penrose] on the faculty of the newly-minted Texas A&M University School of Law called for the repeal and replacement of the Second Amendment on Friday.

Lets see, Texas A&M being "Agriculture and Military" with a very active Cadet military component. Yep really goes well in that place, please tell me she is not already tenured.

As for "repeal & replace" whats stopping her? Just like the 18th and 21st Amendments, there is a fully defined path to amend the US Constitution, so go ahead and take your SHOT!

Just don't expect the rest of us to roll over and play dead for you and don't expect that "Living Constitution" nonsense to allow you a free rein on OUR Constitutional Rights!

Look I for one am a bit tired of “tenure” being used to always defend teachers.

Liberals have taken over schools.

Screw tenure. Throw them out if they need to be replaced.

Simple as that.

You are right about “what’s stopping her?”

There is a constitutional approach for those who want to get rid of the 2nd Amendment: Line up big majorities in both houses of Congress, and convince 3/4 of the states to go along. If that many people want to go down the tubes, what can we do to stop it?

The leftists know there is no way that many people would go along with repealing the 2nd Amendment, so they have to subvert it in an illegal, extra-constitutional fashion.

She is daring them to punish her. They acted stupidly in hiring her int he the first place... The first stupid thing the regents did though was to open a law school for TAMU.

I’d like to see a broom closet in the basement with no phone, no lights and no desk and no classes in her future.

What a shame.

Prof Penrose needs to study both the Constitution & the background preceding repeal of the 18th Amendment (Prohibition). Amending the Constitution was intentionally made to be an extremely difficult process.

Getting three fourths of the state legislatures to vote to ratify a proposed amendment is a chore, which she as an obvious feminist leftie should remember from the abortive “equal rights amendment” which foundered in 1978 just three votes short of ratification, once its radical intent was made known to the public.

Her proposed “states’ rights solution” to gun control is disingenuous; liberals foam at the mouth when the words “states’ rights” are even spoken, and they demand Federal gun control laws so the “strict states” aren’t being victimized by guns flowing over their borders from the states that are “lax” on gun control.

What a lightweight! That twinkie couldn’t argue her way out of a biodegradable Whole Foods grocery bag.
