We have a mom and pops local grocery store that gets their chickens from a nearby farm. The chicken is much smaller than that from the grocery chains- no hormones or antibiotics. It is also the absolute best tasting chicken I have ever had.

Living in rural Floriduh dose have its advantages- fresh eggs, produce, and local meats are readily available. Having my own chickens is something worth contemplating at this point.

My local Asian market gets it’s chicken, pork, etc., from the local Amish farmers. The chicken is smaller, and always delicious. Every couple of months, the big Giant Eagle supermarket has a sale on chicken breasts. 2 for the price of one. They’re huge, and have been injected with chicken juice. Those chickens were the egg layers that have past their prime. Don’t buy them!
The Asian markets live Tilapia come from Erie Pa. Lots of Lake Erie fish, and fresh ocean fish. Good prices.
