Democrats fear being swamped by 'Obama's Katrina' (Bon Voyage!!)

(11-14) 16:23 PST SAN FRANCISCO -- President Obama's mea culpa and proposals to fix his health care overhaul Thursday didn't mollify California Democrats furious over the administration's botched rollout of its signature law, which they fear could dash their hopes of retaking the House and jeopardize the party in competitive races in the state.

"This is Obama's Katrina," said Democratic strategist Garry South, referring to the 2005 hurricane that inundated New Orleans and robbed then-President George W. Bush of much of his second-term credibility when his administration bungled the disaster response.

"If you're a Democrat running in an endangered seat who has supported" the Affordable Care Act, South said, "how can you defend this?"

Rep. Juan Vargas, D-San Diego, surveyed the damage and said, "Someone messed up. Someone's head ought to roll."

The harsh reaction came after Obama proposed changes that would let insurance companies offer customers the option of continuing with coverage that does not meet Affordable Care Act requirements. House takeover iffy

Obama acknowledged that his "fumbled" rollout of the health plan "has put a burden on Democrats" in next year's midterm elections.

Democrats had hoped to capitalize on the Republican-prompted partial shutdown of the federal government to pick up the net gain of 17 seats they need to win back the House. That is looking like a much tougher challenge now.

The Bush admin did not bungle the Hurricane Katrina disaster. GWB did make a silly statement that
“Brownie is doing a great job.” HIs appointee did get sacked for the perceived inaction of FEMA.

Yet, I remember that on the second day of the disaster GWB had the National Guard and Coast Guard out in NO. Plus he himself had a fly over the city in the helicopters. The ditzy press corps criticized him for not being on the ground. Well, the ground was covered with floodwater.

Obama deliberately signed a law that he wanted in order to change our health system and redistribute the wealth - plus he wanted to us all to pay for abortions and birth control. Now he is dictating terms to private businesses on how they should run their insurance companies. He is like a yoyo, changing directions on a dime.

More and more I’m really believing that Obamacare can be a Death Star for Democrats.

Not a chance. The Death Star is actually more popular:

Yes. The Dems think they can survive if they get past this tough spot. However, people are going to get hit with higher premiums every month or their pay checks will be smaller every week. A constant reminder of how 0bamacare has made their lives harder.

Recall as well that, two days before Katrina hit, GWB and the Director of the National Hurricane Center were on the horn to Mayor Ray Nagin and Gov. Kathleen Blank-o, pleading with them a.) to evacuate the city and b.) call out the National Guard and have it standing by.

Neither made a move...

They don’t want it because while the premiums may be partially covered by the subsidy the deductibles and co pays are not subsidized. If you were uninsured before how is that better?

That got me too. Progressives always rewrite history and for good reason in this case. The are covering for both Mayor Ray "School bus" Nagin (felon) and most importantly for Sen. Mary Landrieu, who provided the deciding vote for ACA. Landrieu is up for re-election.

Because they still plan to go to the Emergency Rooms because that is what they have always done. They prolly don’t trust signing up figuring they will be charged something.

After all, booze and crack trump health insurance any way and anyday. LOL

The Democrat governor of Louisiana and the Democrat mayor of New Orleans bungled Katrina...not to mention the local Democrat politicians over the years who had not seen to it that the levees were strong enough.

The media succeeded in convincing the public that everything was Bush's fault, but I don't think even they claimed that Bush steered the hurricane to hit the chocolate city.

Obamacare, on the other hand, is a calamity entirely created by the Democratic Party.

For some reason that reminded me of this:

Obama-Speak: Homeland Security Secretary Replaces 'Terrorism' With the Term 'Man-Caused Disaster'

I firmly believe ACA is a terrorist attack against the American people and not just a Man-Caused Disaster.

"This is Obama's Katrina"

This is buckwheat's Katrina/Viet Nam/Watergate on steroids. But it doesn't really matter, GOPe will nominate Christie and Hillary will win.

Katrina was nothing compared to Obamacare. Katrina only hit once.

This is much, much worse that “Bush’s Katrina.” They are delusional. There is no comparison

Katrina was in one state....

by Obama's counting that makes it 57 times as worse.

My bold prediction is that Kathleen Sebelious will be out of a job before Monday. My second prediction is that it won’t make any difference.

That’s exactly right. Mr. “Chocolate City” was so lazy he couldn’t be bothered and Idiot Governor (forgot her name) didn’t realize she had to ask for federal assistance. I was like Whaaaaaat??

Nobody can forget the acerbic response to that one. Never mind that you may get better health care on board the Death Star than with Zerocare.

Most people in the chocolate city hated bush anyway.

Obama is vaporizing his credibility in every household in the country.
