Some Senate Democrats arent fully satisfied with President Barack Obamas proposed fix to the Affordable Care Act.
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) also said earlier on Thursday that House Democrats would move their own legislation to address problems with the law that would complement Obamas solution.
As they prepared for a private briefing from White House Chief of Staff Denis McDonough on Thursday afternoon, Sens. Jeanne Shaheen (D-N.H.) and Mark Begich (D-Alaska) indicated that senators may seek legislative relief beyond the one-year extension Obama is offering for people whose health insurance has been cancelled.
Were moving forward on the legislation that [Jeanne] Shaheen and [Mark] Udall and I sponsored, Begich said. Id make it permanent if I could but Im thinking at least two years should be on the table.
Others who have endorsed changes to Obamacare wouldnt commit to a vote on legislation that would delay or otherwise alter the presidents signature domestic achievement.
Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-La.), whose bill would allow people to keep their plans indefinitely, said in a statement that she was encouraged by Obamas words, but indicated she will also continue to pursue legislative fixes to Obamacare.

This is like a dead pt who is being kept alive on life support while the family argues what to do.
Repeal the commie POS!!
You idiots had like, 40 times to vote “yea” on its repeal, but chose to vote with your Messiah.
Now its yours to own! Time to polish up your turds! I mean, your RESUMES....
good analogy
Jim, you retain your succinct, concise eloquence. :)
Good...
I hope Mark Pryor (D) Arkansas, is satisfied too. He will lose the next election if he hasn’t already.
...and thus Obama’s “plan” lands with a big thud in the Senate.
You guys own this sinking ship.
Mary do the right thing and propose this 0bamatax be repealed. Anything less than that and you'll lose your next election to a TEA Party candidate.
Pelosi is such a genius! I can’t wait until we hear what she is going to do to fix it!
And someone forgot to install the lifeboats.
Lock, stock and barrel! lol! I love watching them run for the life boats only to find Obama stole them...

This story includes a link to the document that effectuates Obama’s fix. http://bit.ly/1duQTwR
That move was effectuated by a letter to insurance commissioners from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Center for Consumer Information & Insurance Oversight (CCIIO). That letter, from CCIIO Director Gary Cohen, says the old plans can continue into 2014, but only if certain conditions are met.
One is that the non-compliant plan must have been in effect on October 1.
Another is that insurance companies must send a notice to anyone who was told their plan was being canceled. That note must explicitly tell these people that they have a right to enroll in an ObamaCare insurance plan through the exchanges.
Among other things, companies must also provide information to these people about how to sign onto ObamaCare, and must note which ObamaCare reforms are not in their old plan.
Coming from Politico, I’m impressed.
At one time, IIRC, they were totally in the tank with this POS!
LOL, Obama really set them up as suckers,
this is like Christmas every day.
