What does he care about Fracking? How does it interfere with anything he does?
I believe he thought frackin was a child molesting homo priest thing.
That should be more relevant to what he’s supposed to be doing.
As a Pope, his opinion on fracking is no more relevant or important than the opinion of a baker, a soldier, a fisherman, or a tailor.
In fairness, the article is a joke. I’ll wait until I see the alleged encyclical.
I wonder how the Pope feels about lying to God? Perhaps an encyclical on that would help environmentalists in there presentations.
I cannot believe that some here still make excuses for this man.
I speak to how he allows the press to use and abuse his name and presence. One holding his power and grace should be very careful about how he says things and where is is photographed.
“Pope Frank is a Leftist and will be softening the Vatican policy on abortion and homosexuality while pushing for open borders, redistribution of wealth (that doesn’t include Vatican wealth) and environmentalism. Pope Frank has had his honeymoon. Now he gets down to the serious business of implementing Marxist control”.
In matters of petroleum engineering, not so much.
Good grief. He must be hobnobbing too much with His All-Holiness Bartholomew (a.k.a “Black Bart”), who took up environmentalism in a big way, I think because it was the only sphere of politics the Turks would let him be active in.
(And yes, we Orthodox tend to give deprecating pet names to our hierarchs when they take positions whose consonance with Holy Tradition is dubious — the EP who introduced the New Calendar and broke the unity of the Orthodox Church in America by setting up the Greek Archdiocese in parallel to the existing Russian hierarch tends to be uniformly referred to as “Patriarch Miletius of Sorrowful Memory” in many circles of the Church (not just among adherents of the Old Calendar, either).)
He should stick to issues in his area of expertise.
A sincerely held belief requires action. He has been fooled like so many others. We need to open his eyes to the lies couched in scientific terms and presented as facts.
He will consider the evidence; it is likely he has only seen the lies to this point.
