I do believe they wanted this law as a stepping stone, but I do not believe they had any intention or idea that any of this would happen. I think that their ideology and arrogance convinced then that the public would see this as a huge present from government. Then they would pivot on that good will to seal the deal for single-payer.

I do not believe Obama can recover from what happened today. That’s not say won’t have highs and lows going forward, but essentially he has neutered himself in front of the American people. The Q&A made it much, much worse.

My take is the the Dems, bereft of any talking points, were getting slaughtered in the MSM and storming the WH.

Obama's presser today had 3 objectives:

1) To stem the tide of negative press from the MSM with a fix for the massive number of cancellations, i.e., I will double down and promise again you can keep it, and

2) kick the inevitable catastrophe down the road;

3) blame greedy insurance companies when they balk at Obama's new fix and say, There is no way we can honor Obama's new fix. We wish he would have consulted with us before he came out with his new fairy-tale fix.
