Obamacare is falling apart and in the process "millions" of Americans are hurting from the loss of health insurance, Sen. Ted Cruz charged Wednesday.
"At this point, it's clear Obamacare isn't working. I think Congress needs to step in. We need to show real leadership and fix the problem that Congress created. We need to stop Obamacare," the Texas Republican said on "Fox & Friends."
In travels across his home state, Cruz said he's found that many people have been "scared" by the loss of their current health insurance due to the new regulations set out under the new healthcare law.
"I don't think it's fixable. The White House is coming in with all of these fixes and little bells and whistles. But, they're not going to work. It's fundamentally flawed," he said.
"Nobody can defend it, because millions of people are losing their jobs, are at part-time work. Their premiums are skyrocketing and getting health insurance canceled. We need to stop it and start over because it didn't work," Cruz added.
Cruz dismissed former President Bill Clinton's admonishment of President Barack Obama to keep his promise that people would be able to keep their present coverage if they like it.
He said Clinton's comments were politically suspect because his wife, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, is considered to be the Democratic front runner for president in 2016.
"It suggests, perhaps, that Hillary Clinton is looking to run away from President Obama and run away from Obamacare," Cruz said.
Cruz also said the former president's comments should be taken as a "signal" to Democrats that changes need to be made in the law.

Ted Cruz Ping!
If you want on/off this ping list, please let me know.
Please beware, this is a high-volume ping list!
There should be no Republicans signing on to a “fix” or “repair” as they are doomed to fail and would allow balme to be spread to Republicans as well.
Another bill to repeal is the only acceptable course of action for the Right.
If Obamas Socialized Health Insurance Tax, (OSHIT), has little or no chance of financial success in 5 years, then why do Federal politicians in both political parties try to fix or replace instead of ABOLISH Obamacare?
“There should be no Republicans signing on to a fix or repair as they are doomed to fail and would allow balme to be spread to Republicans as well.”
Correct. When your enemy is digging a hole, step aside and let him keep digging.
Washi on Obamacare: ‘The entire government needs to step the hell out’
Let it burn Ted.
Actually, the entire government needs to be replaced.
Regime change/
America demands Justice for the Fallen of Benghazi! |
The same Congress that passed it without reading it? We are supposed to trust Harry Reid and John Boner to fix Obamacare?
Someone wake me when it over
Yes Congress needs to “Step in”, they have needed to do that for a long time now. Unfortunately the current Congress is almost as worthless as the President.
Listening to Mark Levin (taped) show now. He’s absolutely right. Now is the time to demand a complete repeal of Obamacare, not some stupid band-aid to delay the pain. This is the time to act. We’ve got to melt down their phones.
Brilliant!
If the shoe fits - - - .
The truth is gradually beginning to dawn on more and more people - Carl Cameron tonight on Fox observed that there are now a number of Democrats in congress advocating various changes to Obamacare to try to correct its flaws that Republicans were pushing a month or so ago - before long they’ll understand the irony of having vilified as being radical Cruz, Rand, et al for having stood up for what now is becoming accepted by the mainstream.....
When are the backstabbing dumb-ass Rinos in congress going to admit it?
He and Mike Lee had it right, they had it wrong and now American is paying for it.
Well, John McCain is starting to come around...maybe.
Yup, I expect a lot of Rinos to come over and attempt to led the parade now that the damage has been done and Obamacare is imploding.
Only a few men, real men, stood tall in the beginning.
McCain isn't one of them, in fact he did more to undercut them than the Rats.
I love it too
