The Muslim community in Montgomery County didnt get the results it was hoping for as it tried to make a major Islamic holy day an official school holiday.
Islamic families spoke at a school board meeting Tuesday to ask that Eid al-Adha, a holy day that Muslims compare to Christmas or Yom Kippur, be added to the school calendar.
But school board members said they did not include Eid al-Adha in the newly-approved 2014-2015 calendar because they cant legally close school for religious reasons unless the holiday causes operational issues, like absenteeism.

Whatever the reason, glad to here it.
“Happy Beheading Day to you too!”
The teacher union contract is already inked. Wait until the next contract negotiation and the lazyazz teachers will demand it be on the calendar in the name of diversity be we all know that it is just so they can have yet another day off.
here = hear
bttt
Heads are gonna roll...
Didn't I also read it lasts 4 days? So do they want all 4 days off?
Anyone who understands what the Day of Atonement is about would not go around “comparing” it to other holidays, besides.
That’s also what I meant, I hope I didn’t come off as putting down Yom Kippur.
Maryland “Freak State” PING!
Let the beheadings begin!
Good!
It’s as it always is - does it cause disruption?
If these ragheads can get enough sycophants in the area I’m sure they can gin up the “headcount” to get their pathetic holiday declared.
Besides, these Moslems are screwy anyway - their days fluctuate all over the real calendar. Remember how damnfool commie apologists tried to equate Ramadan with Christmas? LOL at Ramadan being in August this year - damnfools trying to incorporate it in “winter festivals” looked exactly that - damn fools.
I think the libs in Monkey Co. are in a bind — it’ll come down to the issue of majority. Are there more Muzzies and their sympathizers, or more illegal Hispanics and their sympathizers?
My money says all the Eid-al-whatever(s) will be incorporated into their calendar, someway, within 3 years.
Wish they’d just go ahead and secede into NoVA, already.
