"Our free stuff today is being paid for by taking money from our children and borrowing from China," the former Alaska governor and 2008 GOP vice presidential candidate said at a Faith and Freedom Coalition fundraiser Saturday night, according to the Des Moines Register.

Do it.
Someone has to say it. Bring jobs home.
It’s not ‘like slavery.’ It IS slavery!
Save and be free. Benjamin Franklin
Borrow and become a slave. Sarah Palin.
As our debt increases, so will the portion of the work day that is dedicated to paying down the debt. Eventually, there will be no take home pay or what you take home will be worthless, Zimbabwe type money.
That's been true for the past 15 or 20 years.
the usual vitriolic posts from the libs are in full bloom in the comment section....
We already do work a portion of every work day for free and have since the income tax was enacted.
Not “like”. It “is”.
This is simply an indication that Sarah Palin (almost alone) has stood up for America.
Now she stands up for American jobs, she is ready.
America may have our next President.
She is absolutely right. One thing we could do that would immediately cause big new investments in the US would be to allow corporations to repatriate their overseas earnings with a lower tax rate. It would encourage domestic investment which is really now more competitive because of energy costs being down. The US is not in a bad position to establish more manufacturing..especially in those states that are right to work. The combination of low energy costs, RTW, lower land prices and low interest rates makes the US more competitive.
Building the new Canadian pipeline and drilling in ANWR would be big helps as well. All of these policies are opposed by our enemies RATS..
“Who owns your bonds, owns your soul.” Mark Steyn quoting someone else.
And of course that cretin Al Sharpton had to stick his oar in:
“Dis heah wat woman encroachifyin’ on mah raciss copyrights!”
They, in their overwhelming desire for accumulation of power of government over people, acknowledge the taxing power as useful for restraining motivation toward what they deem to be undesirable behavior.
On the other hand, they deny the certain fact that "taking," or taxing productive citizens also discourages and restrains motivation.
Democrats, under Obama, now have endangered the liberty of millions yet unborn with their illogical arguments on behalf of "taking" and "redistributing" the earnings of hard-working Americans. They claim they are "taking care" of those who elected them. Their "taking care" amounts to enslaving every citizen, born and unborn, for generations to come.
Their claims would fall on deaf ears, if most citizens understood their Constitution's limits on the powers of government.
Let's hear what some Founders said about the policies of today's "progressive" regressive Democrats.
"To preserve [the] independence [of the people,] we must not let our rulers load us with perpetual debt. We must make our election between economy and liberty, or profusion and servitude. If we run into such debts as that we must be taxed in our meat and in our drink, in our necessaries and our comforts, in our labors and our amusements, for our callings and our creeds, as the people of England are, our people, like them, must come to labor sixteen hours in the twenty-four, give the earnings of fifteen of these to the government for their debts and daily expenses, and the sixteenth being insufficient to afford us bread, we must live, as they now do, on oatmeal and potatoes, have no time to think, no means of calling the mismanagers to account, but be glad to obtain subsistence by hiring ourselves to rivet their chains on the necks of our fellow-sufferers." --Thomas Jefferson to Samuel Kercheval, 1816. ME 15:39
"I deem [this one of] the essential principles of our government and consequently [one] which ought to shape its administration:... The honest payment of our debts and sacred preservation of the public faith." --Thomas Jefferson: 1st Inaugural, 1801. ME 3:322
"I sincerely believe... that the principle of spending money to be paid by posterity under the name of funding is but swindling futurity on a large scale." --Thomas Jefferson to John Taylor, 1816. ME 15:23
"[With the decline of society] begins, indeed, the bellum omnium in omnia [war of all against all], which some philosophers observing to be so general in this world, have mistaken it for the natural, instead of the abusive state of man. And the fore horse of this frightful team is public debt. Taxation follows that, and in its train wretchedness and oppression." --Thomas Jefferson to Samuel Kercheval, 1816. ME 15:40
"Is it now high time for the people of this country to explicitly declare whether they will be free men or slaves. It is an important question which ought to be decided. It concerns more than anything in this life. The salvation of our souls is interested in this event. For wherever tyranny is established, immorality of every kind comes in like a torrent, it is in the interest of tyrants to reduce the people to ignorance and vice. - Samuel Adams
And:
The utopian schemes of leveling and a community of goods, are as visionary and impractical as those which vest all property in the crown. These ideas are arbitrary, despotic, and, in our government unconstitutional. - Samuel Adams
Lest any attribute some benevolent motive to those who have forced this coercive measure upon us, we might add the wisdom of C. S. Lewis:
"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience." - C. S. Lewis
This country so needs a full employment policy instead of cheap labor at any price policy.
We have gone so far towards cheap labor that its not even good for business anymore. The customers are disappearing due to lack of cash.
And yet, nary a word from ANYONE but the (L) ‘(R)’ Paul to abolish the same. The RNC? GOP? Whom last talked about making it just more ‘fair’ (tweaking) vs. abolish?
The debt already flies in the face of the 13th A. The 16th on the 4th, 5th, etc. etc. Why it doesn’t open up more eyes that we are NOT a Const. Republic any longer boggles my mind...
Note to Sarah, use the terms “Economic Slavery” or “Indentured Servitude” in future Speeches.
Doing otherwise gives our Enemies an excuse to ignore the message and focus on one phrase “like slavery”. Things like that are Red Meat to the Propagandist’s.
The gov't will inflate it away and thereby destroy people's savings.
