Why Chris Christie Isn't Mitt Romney or John McCain
CBN ^ | November 07, 2013 | David Brody

Posted on 11/11/2013 4:35:40 PM PST by xzins

I know…I know….here we go again right? All the talk is about how Chris Christie will be the best GOP nominee because he’s the most electable.

We’ve heard this before. We heard it with John McCain in 2008. We heard it with Mitt Romney in 2012 and now we are hearing it with Governor Christie.

But there’s a crucial difference. No disrespect to McCain or Romney but Christie has pizazz. He has more chutzpah in one finger than McCain and Romney do combined. That’s important.

A lot of Tea Party conservatives are going to focus in on the purity of Gov. Christie’s record. And for sure, that record should be explored. But just remember this: You can make the conservative case for Christie, too. It’s not like he’s Jon Huntsman folks.

Plus, Christie may just be the perfect political figure to run at a time like this because Washington is dysfunctional and Christie doesn’t do dysfunctional. He’s got no patience for it just like the American people.

That match of the hearts could very well be Christie’s biggest asset. Put another way (or as Chris Christie might put it), he doesn’t take any crap. And Americans seem ready for someone with real bravado that’s serious about breaking through the political clutter to come up with real solutions.

No sale.

I expect Christie to switch parties at some point.

The democrats won’t let him run if he switches. They’ll despise him for his weight, and they’ll despise him for his past. He’ll get the Arlen Specter treatment, who was a huge public relations win for the Dems, but then they studiously ignored him after that. He’d served his purpose.

The democrats would shed blood before they’d let Christie have their presidential nod.

Chutzpah is no substitute for conservative principles.

FAIL.

Neither does Ted Cruz. So why not him?

What Mitt Romney learned about Chris Christie in 2012 and why it matters for 2016

The press is hoping Christy gets nominated precisely so they use this stuff against him.

David Brody, of the CBN Station and Pat Robertson's 700 Club.

That same Pat Roberston and David Brody who were singing the praises of NARAL “Champion of Choice,” Gay Rights activist, and rabid Gun Confiscator Rudy Giuliani in 2000.

They have become just another PR organization for the GOP Establishment. Truly, they have lost any semblance of independence or moral high-ground. It has been sad to see them fall.

I attribute it to Robertson’s age and connections. IIRC, he’s the son of a US senator...the connection to the establishment. His age tenderized his think processor. Sometimes it’s set on wacky and others on gullible. The default setting is wackible.

Last night on BOR, Laura Ingraham said Christy was more conservative than Rudy G.

Another example why I stopped listeningto her.

FWIW, Christie is more conservative than Giulianni in that Christie is rilom pro-life...his one saving grace.

Giuliani ran against Hillary and said he was pro-choice all the way.

Okay, Brody. Go ahead and make it. If you can.

There is no conservative case that can be made for Christie.

The case for Christie is that he won New Jersey.

That’s it.

I agree. If the Republican Party wants to blow itself up, nominating Chris Christie for President is exactly the way to do it.
