ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) Days after a Republican was elected mayor of Annapolis, City Council members say they will revisit legislation that would strip the mayors office of much of its power.
Democratic Alderman Ross Arnett of Ward 8 tells The Capital he will introduce a charter amendment to move Annapolis to a council-manager style of government. The city manager would report directly to the City Council, not the mayor.

It is that is why they elected a Republican. And now they want to take away his powers so that he doesn’t fire any of the cronies that have brought the city to its knees. FYI 534 employees for a city that has less then 40,000 residents. A budget of $100 million dollars that they needed to get a loan to pay employees with.
