She developed epileptic seizures of the type that did not cause the convulsions but did cause a black out of consciousness. During those periods, she would go into a stare for minutes totally unaware of her surroundings. This prevented her from ever driving a car. She also developed bi-polar manic-depression and had to take lithium, which had nasty side effects.

You got that right. There will be more mental cases on the streets without their meds. My lady friend was a nice person. What happens when they are not so nice?
