Five Years of Obama's Rule: Community Disorganizer
Voice of Russia ^ | November 9, 2013 | Dmitry Babich

Five years ago, in the autumn of 2008, recent Democratic candidate at the US presidential election, Barack Hussein Obama, entered the study of the still current President George W. Bush, not as a candidate, but as the future owner. The former "community organizer" from the state of Illinois was becoming the most powerful person on the planet Earth. The results of the election have just been announced, and the first coloured American President has won by a margin of four percent.

It is quite a lot for America, though Obama's rival was not the strongest one. Even then, aging Senator John McCain was often talking stuff and nonsense, although all illusiveness of his inner world, where the Russians still obey the articles of the Pravda newspaper, will be revealed to the world a bit later.

However, Obama started his first presidential term with great credibility from both parties. In conditions of the 2008 crisis, Obama in 24 days received an approval from Congress for $ 800 billion worth anti-crisis payments. At the time, the Congressmen wisely considered that to say no to the young President would cost them more and didn't resist.

As the new head of the state was perceived as the embodiment of desirable changes, Obama put all the blame for the troubles of the USA on Bush, who was the laughingstock for everybody in those years. Under these conditions, the legislators preferred to help Obama to avoid being reputed as "Bushists".

However, soon, the Congress grew bolder and began to actively oppose Obama. The popularity of the 44th President fell. Why? The thing was that very soon it became clear that America's problems were not associated only with the odious personality of Bush. They are installed in the system, which now requires small victorious wars for the military-industrial complex, now demands money from patients for the profit-oriented health care system. In the end, even the reform of the medical insurance launched by Obama in good faith led to the fact that part of the middle class lost their old insurances without receiving new ones. According to the head of the Health for All Fund from Colorado Donna Smith, the President's error was in his decision to improve the system without changing its overall focus on monetization of diseases.

We should give Obama his due: recently, he personally apologized to several millions of Americans, who had lost their insurance as a result of the imposed reform. To foreign victims of his diplomatic errors Obama apologizes more rarely. Meanwhile, five years ago, Obama gave hope to his audience in the Islamic world and in Russia. He promised a "reset" of relations to Moscow and closing of the Guantanamo prison - to human rights defenders. He concluded the withdrawal of troops from Iraq and addressed the Muslims in Cairo in his famous speech. In this speech, Obama promised to stop the so-called "War on Terror" started by Bush, which was seen as the main reason of the US invasions in other countries. However, soon, conflicts in Libya and Syria showed that the American military-industrial complex cannot live without wars. To make it worse, American mass media cannot live without wars, too: they constantly need to demonize someone – now the Libyan, now the Syrian or Iranian, or even the Russian leaders.

And the most dangerous thing is that this demonization of the leaders disliked by the mass media is constantly followed by idealization of their opponents. These are the rules of Hollywood: if there is a bad guy, there should be a good guy fighting with him. Alas, at some point, Islamist militants in Libya and Syria were included in the number of "good guys".

And Obama turned out to be a hostage of this primitive Hollywood picture of the world forced to react at the demands of the befuddled part of the American public. That's how these requirements looked like: to immediately arm the militants, and if that doesn't help, to start bombing - first, Libya, and then Syria. However, in the case of Syria, the opinion of pacifists outweighed: in the last 15 years, America was fighting so unprecedentedly much that it was simply tired of wars. Moreover, as Congressman Ted Cruz notes, the habit of arming the Islamists in Afghanistan or in Syria is becoming dangerous for the United States.

In the end, the Middle East became another cemetery for Barack Obama's prestige. Civil wars in Libya and Syria, ruthless murders committed by drones in Yemen, ugly history with Arab prisoners in Guantanamo, which often produces the most brutal terrorists with the experience of tortures from the hated Americans - all of this did not comply with the promises voiced in the speech in Cairo. If to the Middle Eastern failure and "pointed killings" with the help of drones in Pakistan and Afghanistan that did not "behead" the al-Qaeda we add the cessation of the "reset" in the relations with Moscow and the recent scandal with wiretapping the EU leaders - and Barack Obama's foreign policy presents itself in a dismal light. And the problem here is not in individual mistakes of ambassadors and advisors, although it is sad that none of the "architects" of, at least, the Iraqi policy of the US was punished. The problem lies in the "black and white" ideology, which sees the Arab Spring pogroms as an inevitable prelude to democracy, Ukrainian nationalists – as ambassadors of European thought saving Ukraine from Russia, and rude populist Navalny - as a desirable alternative to Putin. The roots of Obama's foreign policy failures lie in his inability to reject the dogmas of this ideology.

Having won the victory over the heirs of Bush at the ballot box, Obama failed to defeat them in the American establishment as a whole. Still less Obama managed to overcome "Bushism" within himself, including its dividing the world into "good guys" and "bad guys", whom it is best to simply kill from a safe distance. As a result, Obama approaches the end of his second term having a unique internal American opposition, which has united against him both the disappointed leftists, who consider him to be a slightly painted new edition of George Bush, and the revengeful rightists dreaming to finally get even with this supporter of gay marriages bearing an Islamic name of Barack Hussein. That's the strange coalition eventually knocked together by the community organizer from Illinois.

minus 5 points for lack of English proficiency.
minus 5 points for lingering Cold War mentality.
plus 20 points making reference to Obama as the first coloured American President.

Well, color me hopeless, outraged.

Sounds like Pinko drivel.

All articles from the likes of Voice of Russia, English Pravda are be taken at arm's length.

Inside every conventional Russian nationalist is the heart of a hardcore Soviet sycophant yearning for the glory of the old Soviet motherland.

And at some point in the not-too-distant future American patriots will yearn for the glory of the Old United States motherland.

Someone should pen a book about American (possibly universal) politics and title it “Save the Last Laugh for Me”.

This Indonesian rectum from Kenya needs to be consigned to adorn the crescent mooned entry to a place that ignorant people go to deposit their own excrement—referring of course to all the areas of the Turd World that still lack basic plumbing and sewer systems—like Indonesia, Kenya, all of Africa that was not colonized, and all but the urban elites of Asia.

I score this news story differently, as I now score my own reply, a zero. Discussing this POS is a zero, will always be a zero. It is a waste of time, energy and oxygen to critique what is an abomination, what is an affront to our nation, what is an affront to every good thing that one can imagine, and an affirmation of every thing evil that one can imagine.

That first part sounds to me like a reiteration of the unheeded warning given us by outgoing General of the Army and President Dwight David Eisenhower.

It’s way past time to STOP sending our kids to be maimed and killed fighting other peoples’ civil wars just so some sleazy politician can beat his chest and feel manly and to punch the ticket of some Pentagon brass hats who get to play with very expensive taxpayer furnished battlefield “toys”. And when our last guy leaves, the bad guys come out of their holes, murder the locals foolish enough to trust and cooperate with us then take over the country anyway!

Einstein defined “insanity” as doing the same things over and over while expecting a different result.

I contend 0bama wants to make America the most impoverished nation on earth, at which time we will finally understand our grievousness.

Naturally, since every Soviet leader had the heart of a Russian nationalist yearning for the glory of the Russian Empire. Peas, pods.

Today, I expanded my geopolitical nomenclature to include exciting, new phrases such as the Indonesian rectum and the use of Turd World for future reference.

Gawd, the benefits of FR readership.

“And at some point in the not-too-distant future American patriots will yearn for the glory of the Old United States motherland”

A good question - is the world better off now that we “won” the Cold War? What ever happened to Pax Americana? That didn’t last.
