A recent storm of completely understandable Internet rage came when a Red Lobster waitress posted a customer's $44 receipt featuring the N-word in lieu of a tip. But wait, there's a happy ending to this story: The waitress in question was given an online fundraiser that resulted in over ten grand in donations. Faith in humanity: restored!

fight back....fight back and get that $10000 plus back and a public apology and hope little racist waitress loses her job once and for all....what a little jerk....
Oh I’d LOVE to be on the jury for this civil action. There would be large payments from the businesses/institutions involved in this fraud/attempted destruction of an individual. And this sleazy waitress would be paying installments for the rest of her life.
What's Rev. Al's cut?
What’s with the usage of words like Alleged and Apparent in the news and on the web? I’ve been seeing and hearing that a bit more recently. The “Alleged LAX gunman”, and so on? Was he the gunman or not? Was the receipt faked or not?
Do the Christian thing, turn the other cheek and forgive her.
bu..bub...but it was on the Innerwebs!!!
Betch you’re right...
Oh, more than that. If she did this, it's called fraud, and she should go to jail for it.
Yeah, after she donates the $10,000 to charity and publicly asks the customer for forgiveness.
Repentance is a good thing.
wait so his order was to go and he never ate inside the restaurant? but then in the interview with a news station, he says him and his wife did eat there and the waitress was cheerful. He didn’t leave a tip.
Could we call it the Cult of Rev’s. Al and Jesse?
Correct. If she did this herself she needs jail time.
Like they ‘forgave’ Paula Deen for using a word decades ago that they themselves use daily in casual speech? There is nothing wrong with dishing it back sometimes. You want people to stop and think before they try these race baiting games on you. You want them to know they have something to lose by making false accusations. That innocent customer received numerous death threats over a lie. The restaurant was likely skimming sort of that charity money for themselves, so they are complicit with the offense.
Amen brother.
No quarter, no mercy, no prisoners.
Something which I have never considered. Makes more sense now.
The media lynch-mobs were wrong about the Duke Lacrosse fiasco, Martin/Zimmerman, etc., etc. — and now this poor schnook. Cynical doesn’t begin to describe how I’ve become about any such media coverage.
This is really an internet thing.
The waitress served them food, although it became a “to-go” order because they had to run off. She did not get a tip. She got mad, and decided to complain.
And it appears that, in order to make her complaint better, she decided to write the n-word on the receipt. She probably felt the guy didn’t tip her because she was black, because she has been listening to Obama too much and believes white people don’t like blacks.
But still, it was just something she did on facebook. Except she didn’t realize there was personal information on the receipt (let’s assume she didn’t notice that). So because it is the internet, now millions of people think some poor guy is a racist. If we had no idea who it was, the story would simply end.
Then someone else decided to raise money for her. She would have to confess to make that stop, and who wants to admit to the world that they are lying. Then she got $10,000, and that’s because people are pretty stupid and like to give money away to random people on the internet without knowing the truth about things.
OK, that is a charitable way of looking at this.
