Weight issue lingers amid Christie 2016 buzz

Two days after Chris Christie’s reelection rout in New Jersey and his sweeping speech that left little room for guessing about what he plans to do next, the governor was greeted Thursday with a Time magazine cover calling him the “elephant in the room.”

The suggestive language about the New Jersey governor, whose weight struggles have been chronicled and analyzed at length, was obvious. “Dr. Hitchcock?” asked one GOP strategist in a conversation with a reporter, referring to the jowly silhouette of the famous director. …

Christie is being heralded by donors and elites as a potential GOP savior—their early call as the party’s hope for a candidate who would have cross-over appeal in a general election. Yet, nearly nine months after his highly-publicized lap-band surgery, a lingering question about Christie’s girth hovers just below the surface of the growing buzz surrounding his 2016 prospects. …

His body weight means his heart is supporting a body that is the size of two people. Do the math! Electorate dislikes by at least 4%, he’d lose another 4% if he had a beard...not issue related but not all voting is issue related. He’s an AH. If you disagree with him, and he’s in a mood...how many clips exist for the opposition without even really trying?

So without even an issue to debate, he’s down 4+ points. Can he spot that to a democrat like Hillary who will get a pass on her past? Will he excite the base enough to get the Tea Party vote out, or is he going to have everyone talking 3rd party again? AGAIN!!!

He’s the media’s candidate, not a real one.

If he is the GOP-e Candidate in 2016 - and I doubt it - then basically we have more of the same. Conservatives can vote 1) for the RAT, 2) for the RAT-Lite, or 3) write Plain/Cruz in.

I - for one- am never again voting for the Dole - McCain - Romney Rat-Lite candidate no matter what I am told to do.

His size makes no difference, he is a RINO and I’m not voting for any more of them.

The man’s physical size was never a factor. Just another Alinsky tactic; the libs do use it against their own after all.

If Christie runs, Democrats win in 2016. That simple.

Hillary’s shape is fine for a women in her 60s. (Women naturally carry more body fat anyway.)

Christie is grotesque and morbidly obese.

When Christie goes camping, the bears hide THEIR FOOD in the trees.

I actually don’t care about his fat, he is a GOP-e RINO that could never get my vote.

Hey Swampsniper, I haven’t seen you posting for awhile-—are you doing okay, FRiend?

If a President Christie should ever visit Riverside, CA, they've got a place for him to sit (originally built for William Howard Taft, #27 in 1909):

I see that RedState is complaining about Christie being “fat-shamed” by Time magazine. Actually the issue looks alarmingly favourable. But it does suggest that nominally “conservative” media figures - the Ericksons of this world - are trying to create a Christie victim narrative and thereby drum up a certain level of conservative sympathy for Christie so that they can tell you to vote for him for 2016.

Apparently he had it done by an obamacare doctor or he got the super slow-mo version where he loses a pound a year.

I think the EPA should shut him down due to excess CO2 production.

About time for the lefties to give him the same treatment they give Rush, who weighs about 1/3 what CC weighs.

We need to see some pics of CC jogging to show us he’s taking care of himself.

It’s clearly because we’re all racist . . . or something. It seems to work for the other protected classes.

I am not going to go all Democrat and Progressive on him. I will attack the issues and not the man.

He beliefs and actions are too left for my thinking and upbringing.

Supporting queers and same sex marriages excludes my vote for the highest office in this land.

He is too friendly with the Muslim crowd who are trying to overthrow our religion in this country. This will not stand and should not stand with a “Repubican” voter. Our next President needs to take a strong stand against the spread of the Muslim faith in our Country.

Just because you are the loudest in the crowd does not make you the rightest..... He thinks he can shout people down or be uncivil to them to make his point. He lacks the class required to be President.
