The Sarah Palin War-on-Christmas Soundboard
New York Magazine ^ | 11/8 | Dan Amira

Posted on 11/08/2013 3:22:13 PM PST by nickcarraway

For religious conservatives, howling over the so-called "war on Christmas" has become an annual holiday tradition almost as enjoyable as Christmas itself. On Tuesday, Sarah Palin seeks to capitalize on the phenomenon with the release of her newest book, Good Tidings and Great Joy: Protecting the Heart of Christmas. Daily Intelligencer purchased the Palin-narrated audiobook from a local bookstore, where it was on sale early, and listened to all four-and-a-half hours, which is technically not a violation of the Geneva Convention if you're getting paid to do it, New York's legal team insists.

The book is part tribute to the joys of Christmas, part how-to guide for oppressed Christians looking for ways to fight back against whiny and litigious secularists, and part manifesto on the general superiority of Christianity over atheism. Palin, throughout, appears incapable of fathoming why a business catering to people from all walks of life may prefer to use inclusive holiday-season language in promotional items, or why a non-Christian may not appreciate a government institution expressing a preference for Christianity over other religions. To hear her tell it, such attitudes imperil America's dedication to religious freedom itself. Click around on the Christmas tree below to hear some of the book's more memorable lines.

If I hear Diversity and Inclusion one more time..I’m unplugging. One of the reasons I took a voluntary layoff.

We should circle the White Hut and sing “O, Holy Night” on Christmas Eve.

New York City has been lost for a long time. Certainly most in the prog media find it easy to get their sorry selves in print.

How about “Happy birthday to the Only True Lord and Savior Of Our Universe, Without Which You Would Suffer Eternal Damnation In Lake Of Fire”?

Liberals ridicule (out of Alinsky’s playbook) anyone who decries a war on Christmas.

But, who files lawsuits to force out public celebrations of Christmas, or symbols such as manger scenes from the public square?

Who forces communities to delete the word Christmas from seasonal public festivals???

In San Diego, a seasonal event called “Christmas on the Prado” had its name changed to “December Nights”. The reason given for the change was to reflect the diversity of San Diego, and because events related to the festival were occuring all over Balboa Park, not just on the Prado in the park. That explanation is so laughable.

In the meantime, San Diego and many other places have homosexual pride parades and events, and they are called gay pride events. In such cases, liberals are okay with calling an event by a title which describes what the celebration is all about. But when it comes to Christmas, liberlas have decided that we can scarcely utter that word, lest someone be excluded or offended.

It’s okay to offend people with a homosexual pride parade, but if you have aChristmas event, we have to fear offending or excluding people. I don’t understand the liberal logic on these matters.

Reading the comments by people after this article is very telling. The people who read the New York Magazine are extremely mean and black-hearted. They all live on the dark side. They are threatened by everything listed in the Boy Scout Oath or promise. They are what is causing this country to crap out. May God have mercy on their sorry-ass souls.

There’s a time and place for this, but if that’s the best thing you can think of about what Christ does then you’ve not got your mind very far past hell yet. Heaven really does get undersold. People think of it as some cotton candy zone when it’s more like filled with dynamite.

But whose holiday is it? How can people who aren't Christians be "included" in a Christian holiday? To call it "winter holiday" or some such euphemism robs Christians of a Christian holiday. If others want their own holiday, fine by me. I'm quite happy to have Jews celebrate Hanukkah and Chinese celebrate Chinese New Year. But let us Christians have our holiday. Quit trying to suppress it.

If Sarah announces a run for the 2016 election, you can be sure that this book will be ripped apart. I hope that it sells so well that even most dems will leave it (talking about it derisively) alone!
