The Mormon church stands to own nearly 2 percent of Florida by completing a deal to buy most of the real estate of the St. Joe Co. for more than a half-billion dollars.

MORMONism spends much of it's time trying to hide what they teach from the public while Christians are perpetually frustrated by the fact that the American people don't seem to understand what they really believe. Both problems spring from a single source: MORMONism lies incessantly. That's not to say that there aren't conservative liars or truthful MORMONs; there are, but for MORMONism, lying is the rule, not the exception.
There are two reasons why MORMONism lies much more than conservatives. First off, this is a Judeo-Christian, GOD centered country and MORMONism's beliefs are much more unpopular than conservative ones. If MORMONism told the truth about what it believes and want to do, the LDS religious organization would practically be wiped out in much of the world.
Additionally, Christians tend to think MORMONs are merely stupid or emotional, while MORMONs tend to view Christians as evil -- and MORMONs use that belief to justify lying about Christianity. After all, if you lie about someone who's evil to keep them from doing bad things, couldn't that be considered virtuous? You may disagree with that, but MORMON politicians, bloggers, and journalists live by that rule. Any lie told about a Christian, even one that MORMONs know isn't true, will be uncritically repeated ad nauseum by the Left until the point it becomes politically disadvantageous to do so.
So, in order to help fight the lies of the Left, here's a guide to the most prevalent techniques that MORMONs use to mislead people about Christians. If you're listening to MORMONs talk about Christians, you're virtually guaranteed to hear at least one of these techniques used:
1) Question The Motivations:
When MORMONs are losing an argument, they love to shift the discussion not to the facts at hand, but to the motivation of the person on the other side. That's because it's almost impossible to prove what someone's motive may be for a particular action.
Thus, MORMONs can claim that the Tanners, who went toe-to-toe with LDS, Inc., beginning in the sixties, is actually a worthless organization.
From the MORMONism perspective, the more shameless the lies, the better because the target of the scandalous accusation and it's defenders will often waste inordinate amounts of time and energy fighting ridiculous, unfounded allegations that a certain percentage of uninformed Americans will simply assume are true without evidence.
2) The Anonymous Smear:
Want to launch an attack at a Christian, but don't have a credible source handy? No problem. Just take a vicious critic or an unreliable source and make them "anonymous."
3) The Teary Eyed Spokesman:
One of MORMONism's favorite tactics of late is to pick pathetic figures we're supposed to feel sorry for as spokesmen. That way, if you try to respond to the lies of someone like Cindy Sheehan, you're accused of picking on the mother of a dead soldier.
4) Rewriting History:
The American public has a short memory and MORMONs count on that to get away with many of their most egregious lies. For example, that's the factor MORMONs count on when they try to pretend that "Christians killed a LOT of MORMONs!"
5) Everybody Knows:
When MORMONs want to avoid a losing argument, they sometimes just refuse to have the argument at all and assure everyone that the matter has already been decided. Why, there's no need for Al Gore to even debate global warming with people who could easily blow holes the size of the Grand Canyon in his arguments because he insists that there's a non-existent "scientific consensus."
6) The Ransom Note Method:
One of MORMONism's favorite tricks is to take something a Christians says completely out-of-context and to attack that comment, even if it's obvious that they're twisting the meaning of what was said.
This one is especially insidious because some Christians foolishly blame other Christians for having their words taken out of context. However, the reality is that if someone is determined to distort what you say, he can always find something to twist around. The people who deserve blame in that situation are not the people whose words were misrepresented; it's the liars who have chosen to misrepresent what they said.
7) The Straw Man:
If you can't find a sin Christians have committed to attack, then invent one. This is one of the most used arrows in the quiver of MORMONs who claim that Christianity wants to create a theocracy, or ban LDS folks from holding office.
Unlike MORMONs, Christians believe most Americans share our values and so, if you want to know what we think, all you have to do is ask us and we will tell you.

The "intolerance" is mormonism claiming to be The ONLY true and living church

But you see, because people challenge mormon doctrine, at the behest of mormon leaders, they’re deemed “haters and bigots” simply because mormons are such “nice people”, etc.
But I will note, I don’t see any of these same people on the JW thread recently posted to the RF decrying the challenges presented therein to the JW doctrine.

No, I daresay that many are simply cowards. They will not admit it, will not admit when they purposefully smear and libel otherwise good people whom they do not know except through words typed on a forum.
Yet, we are to believe they are the “honorable ones” when their own bigotry and intolerance surfaces and viscerally so because someone’s ox is getting gored.
Afterall, if they need to destroy the character of a few to protect a few, we are to submit to their supposed moral authority that it is in the “best interests” of whomever they deem worthy of such “protection”.

Here’s my take:
When confronted with criticism, JW’s normally just walk away. They are taught to avoid learned Christians. They are not equipped to defend the church’s teachings, even if they know them.
Mormon’s are taught to defend the faith, relying on ignorance about the church by non-Mormons and a certain disregard for accuracy. I can’t tell you how many Mormons have told me they were Trinitarian and then argued against Trinitarian doctrine. You can sometimes tell when they are being casual with the truth when they seem to argue against the church’s position. Mormons rarely oppose the church teachings.
But what they really hate are dealing with the mucky history of the church and its teachings. When your founder was “The Prophet”, it’s really messy when he was “wrong”. All that “rock in a hat” and “magic glasses” stuff was cool when non-Mormons didn’t know about it.
