Forget the shutdown: Job creation surged in October despite dimmed expectations from the impasse in Washington.
There were a net 204,000 new jobs created for the month, though the unemployment rate rose to 7.3 percent. A separate measure that includes the underemployed and those who have quit looking also moved higher, from 13.6 percent to 13.8 percent

I'm thinking that it shows that the economy works better when the government is shut down.
Actually it is silly to even try to analyze these tricked up numbers because they are just propaganda.
932,000 drop out of labor force
Participation Rate Drops To Fresh 35 Year Low
What a bunch of hooie:
the unemployment rate rose to 7.3 percent
the unemployment rate rose to 7.3 percent
the unemployment rate rose to 7.3 percent
Bring back American jobs. Now.
When Bush was president they said, “Private sector job creation is at 384,000 but the majority of those are Holiday hires. They will be out of work in January”.
Those that have stopped looking for work are at the highest level since 1978 in the jimmuh catah misery world. Unemployment ticked up to an obama cooked book number of 7.3% or an actual number of 14.1%.
So it’s a “recovery winter”?
Happy days are here again!
I often wonder if anyone in the MSM realizes how delusional they sound.
A hint to the left and beltway class. Virtually no one gives a crap about a shutdown. It in no way hampered my business nor 95% of other businesses. Some were affected, yes, but mostly ones that are reliant of Federal action to complete transactions.
The shutdown is good joke fodder but not much more.
So...why is the labor participation rate at a 35-year low?
Inquiring minds want to know.
On the day after Thanksgiving we’ll find out 80% of these new “jobs” were part time Christmas season jobs. Bank on it.
I miss the good ol days when 4% unemployment was sneered at as a jobless recovery or McJobs

Did NBC even read the report before it wrote its headline to this story? Unemployment up, underemployment up, labor participation rate down. Most of the jobs created were part time. This economy is terrible for jobs. This far out in the economy (an economy growing at a paltry 1.8%) the numbers should be more robust. If I were president, I would be ashamed.
