Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) is confident that he'll make it through what's already a contentious Republican primary in the Kentucky Senate race.
"I don't wanna be overly cocky, but I'm gonna be the Republican nominee next year," he told the Wall Street Journal's Peggy Noonan in an interview published Thursday.
McConnell is facing a conservative challenger in businessman Matt Bevin, who was recently endorsed by the Senate Conservatives Fund, a national conservative group that has been airing ads hitting McConnell for the past year.
The attacks have fueled an ongoing feud between SCF and McConnell and his allies in what's become a proxy battle for a larger conflict within the Republican party between its conservative grassroots and the establishment wing of the party.
And McConnell again knocked SCF — the only conservative group he was willing to discuss — in his WSJ interview, accusing them, in a common refrain, of electing "more Democrats than the Democratic Senatorial Committee over the last three cycles."
"Right now they're on the air in obvious coordination with Harry Reid's super PAC—Harry Reid's!—in the same markets, at roughly the same amount, at the same time," he said, a reference to ads launched against him by the Democratic Senate Majority PAC.
McConnell said that while he agrees with the Tea Party, many of the movements followers are "being misled."
"I think it's irresponsible for some people to characterize themselves as sort of true conservatives, to mislead their followers into believing you can get an outcome that you can't possibly get," he said.
He later added: "I make a distinction between the leaders and the followers. I mean, I think a lot of well-meaning people are sending money to organizations having no idea they're gonna spend all that money against Republicans. Because they're being misled."

Maybe the solid BLUE state Senate nominees should agree to serve only the 1st two years-long enough to get rid of o-care. Imagine 60 SOLID top votes in the Senate with Hillary in the W.H. That would be political rape on a daily basis.

1.) What have you ever done to reverse the steamrolling success against the US Constitution and the US Congress of B. Hussein Obama and Harry Reid?
2.) Has Harry Reid ever thanked you for coming up with your “Continuing Resolutions” to bypass the need to have a Federal Spending Budget for 5 years?
If you have to say it, you are in trouble.
I'm not convinced McConnell especially cares if he is reelected. His primary goal is to sabotage conservatives, reelection is secondary. The RNC's primary goal in 2014 is to destroy TEA Party conservatism, not win seats.
I will NEVER vote for a Democrat. But I will refuse to vote for this traitorous SOB. He will NOT be our next senator. In essence, if the Dem is elected, it will be entirely due to Mitch (Harry's Bitch) McConnell. I hope the SOB rots in Hell.

Those are my feelings as well. I live in MA. I will not vote for a democrat either. But last November I left my ballot blank for US Senate. And thousands like me did the same and now Scott Brown is out of power and can betray no longer. Despite what they all say about moderates, Brown couldn’t get elected dog cathcher here and he’s moving to New Hampshire. And they can have him. He can pal around with Kelly Ayotte and Judd Gregg.
Good...he can take my place.

Now that we have learned the hard way, we have got to get wise to the DemoRats’s tactic of splitting the vote by upshing another candidate into the fray as they did in Virginia this last week. The Tea Party needs to form relationships with other political groups to get them to vote for one candidate that they’ve vetted and done their due diligence to ensure that they’re not a RINO. I suggest extending an outreach toward the domesticated Hispanic groups. They are conservative in nature and any attend church regularly. The left would be livid if this occurred.

Therein lies why you must go, you yield to the seeming impossible, conservative Tea Party folks believe in achieving the impossible, the constitution makes it so, it is the American Way!

Mitch McConnell's arrogance has motivated me to double my first contribution to Matt Bevin's campaign. I'm disgusted by McConnell's heavy-handed tactics against the Senate Conservatives Fund, a fine group of patriots that first introduced Ted Cruz to me in my home state of Texas.
TEA Party folks can work wonders when we nationalize a race of great importance. Defeating McConnell in the KY Primary is such a race that will send an unmistakable message to the GOPe. It's worth our support in money and effort from every state across the USA.
