A Sanford couple have sued movie director Spike Lee for a tweet he posted that falsely claimed that their address was where George Zimmerman lived.
After Lee disseminated the tweet last year to his more than 240,000 Twitter followers, Elaine McClain said she began receiving hate mail and she and her husband, David, had to temporarily move out of their home because they were being harassed.
Sanford Neighborhood Watch volunteer George Zimmerman was charged with second-degree murder in the February 2012 killing. A jury in July found him not guilty.

I had thought Lee had settled out of court with these folks. Guess that wasn’t the case, though.

I thought they settled this in March of 2012.
Either way though $15,000 is petty cash compared to what they should get.
Also we do not know if this couple have continued receiving threats after the settlement. We pretty much know the IQ’s of Spike and Obama’s sons or daughter.
I agree! It should be a large amount to discourage any other people like him from encouraging mobs to harrass people.

This is well-deserved. Even if the name and address were indeed correct WTF does Lee or anyone else think gives him the right to subject innocent people to harrassment and worse? I hope they drain that shrunken little POS for everything.
Make him hurt so badly he can’t afford New York Knicks sideline seats.
Oh, geez. They settled once but now they are coming back for more. Sorry. You should have pushed for a bigger settlement the first time.
1. Spike Lee tweets the wrong address in his diatribe against George Zimmerman.
2. Spike's moonbat followers start harassing and threatening the innocent parties, David an Elaine McClain.
3. Spike Lee issues a retraction and apologizes and maybe tries to buy the victims off.
4. Meanwhile the barking moonbats still haven't figured out these are innocent people and continue treats and harassment — even after George Zimmerman is acquitted of 2nd Degree Murder.
The victims need to sue Spike Lee into oblivion and take his NY Knicks season tickets away. The tickets are then resold to the highest bidder.
I hope they get the police to trace the phone numbers of the death threats that they are receiving. There must be punishment for this crime. Hopefully this will calm the mob down next time another incident like this happens.
