Glenn Beck and Harry Reid have practically nothing in common, except for one little detail: both men are Mormons. And it was with that in mind that Beck felt he could say without reservation that Reid and his Republican colleague Orrin Hatch are two spooky Mormons amidst a tirade against the GOP establishment and the NSA.
Beck was fired up about Hatch throwing Ted Cruz and Mike Lee under the bus by blaming the government shutdown on them and blaming Ken Cuccinellis loss in Virginia on that shutdown. But Beck was far more worried about another issue hes convinced Hatch is involved in: the NSA data center in Utah.
Beck believed that given all the international criticism of the NSA, the data center could very well be the target of a tactical nuke, and was convinced Hatch was completely responsible for bringing the data center there in the first place. He accused Hatch of being, like Reid, a progressive, and warned that Republicans like Hatch and their cronies are trying to get back to a system where power is tightly controlled and more outspoken people like Cruz have less influence.
So Beck is a “non-spooky Mormon”, I guess?
The real question is, doesn’t crying all the time and taking on a faux-Messianic persona make him a spooky Mormon too?
Isn’t Beck a Mormon, too?
if Catholics and Mormons in public office actually worked for the supposed things they believe in, this would be a better world...
That’s what counts. Right?
Harry Reid, Glenn Beck, and Mitt Romney are all among the most devout and holy Mormons, they all carry Temple recommends, I don’t know if Hatch does, but I wouldn’t be surprised, it seems like the Mormons would be against him if he was only an average follower of Mormonism.
Yes. Beck is Mormon. He’s NOT a progressive, though. He’s tired of the elitist crap these guys...Reid, Hatch, McConnell, Boehner etc are pulling against The Good Guys - Lee and Cruz. Hatch is apparently trying to get/or behind the GOP leadership of Utah to throw Mike Lee under the bus with bad press, etc.
When Beck starts talking about religion, I turn the dial.
Beck started out a Catholic and became a Mormon because his kids thought the temple near their family home had fun programs.
(I heard him say this.)
This guy claims to read copious amounts of literature and says he researches around the clock. If this were true, how could he possibly become a Mormon?
I wonder if he thinks Romney is spooky as well.
Bump!!
Very well said.
A temple recommend is a generally a very private thing. Typically, less than 1/3 of the LDS population qualify, by personal decisions they make (drinking, smoking, honesty with others, tithing, chastity, etc. You will probably never hear an LDS person publically boast of having a Recommend, and it is considered rude in the extreme for someone (other than family, or a close friend) to ask.
It’s along the lines of asking someone “When were you last intimate with your wife?’, or “How much did you earn?”. It’s really nobody’s business.
What?! A tactical nuke attack on Obama’s panopticon? Is Glenn working for Infowars now? I know there’s some shifty activity with nukes going on between Texas and South Carolina, but nobody is going to nuke the data center in Utah.
An irate constitutionalists may bulldoze it though. ;)
Oh, I agree. He’s bang on about Hatch and the others, but what is he talking about a tactical nuke attacks?!
I think it might have to do with a couple guys he had on for an episode of ‘on the record’, or whatever it is labeled. I can’t recall right now.
Nonetheless, these men worked for the government and are both convinced that we are currently very vulnerable to any kind of strikes, from Iran or North Korea...who btw, had a satellite of sorts hovering over the midwest awhile back, which nobody talked about.
Just my hunch here.
He doesn't like Harry Reid, think he said he was evil. I don't like to publicly call anyone evil so I will call him obnoxious, arrogant donkey's a$$.
That ex-bodyguard, it is still on the front page of ABC I think said if we knew the truth of what was going on behind the scenes, we'd be shocked and scared. In the context of O'Care or the wider context of all the scandals and screwups. I want to know what I'd be shocked about. Maybe he knows more about the NSA.
Today he talked to Ally, Ben Breedlove's sister, the boy with heart trouble who made the messages on index cards as a YT video and died a week later on Christmas Day.
Some days he's tiresome but I think he means well. He's not likely to convert me to anything. May God bless him and his family.
When it comes to getting a Temple Recommend, and being allowed into the Temples of the elites and to be eligible to become a God, then the number one factor is, you must give them 10% of your gross, that is absolute.
Reid Beck, and Romney are all Temple Mormons, I assume Hatch is also.
I’m also seeing that Hatch passed federal legislation so that Mormons could pay their tithe first, even in bankruptcy? What is that about?
Beck said “Russia or someone like that” might drop a bunker buster on the NSA, “should the world fall apart,” and the rest of the world won’t mind because “we collapsed the world economically.”
Thanks for the explanation referencing the For the Record episode. I did not see that particular episode, but the ones I have seen are excellent. The Blaze is calling out MB, elitists and many other threats.
Okay, but why would those countries target the data center? That would be beyond retarded. It just contains a load of dirt on conservatives.
If NK was going to nuke us, it would be a strike at power plants. Nuking the data center would be as useless as nuking AOL headquarters.
You are mistaken. Scriptures are quite clear, 10% tithing of your "profits", "gains" and "increase". You salary is not your profit, anymore than the cash register in the front of a store is the "Profit". It is up to each member to decide if they have given a "fair and just tithe". There are those who would disagree, personally I found that if you ignore man, and read the scriptures you won't go wrong. You simply answer the questions.
