The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services is awarding more than $5.3 million in Affordable Care Act funding to support new health care centers in Georgia.

In a release Thursday, department Secretary Kathleen Sebelius said the funding will help expand the delivery of health care services in the state, which is expected to impact more than 41,800 Georgians. Officials say the funding is expected to support 10 new health center sites in Georgia.

What sort of "health care" centers can you create for $500K each?

My guess is abortion clinics.

I wish this was being funded with taxpayer’s money. It’s all debt.

America is now like a college kid transferring one credit card balance to the next one while taking all his buddies out for drinks every night.

Actually you don’t need much $ to open up a health center. You rent cheap space and buy an EHR computer, exam table, scale, stethescope, blood pressure gauge and thermometer. Most testing (blood work, xrays, etc) is referred out. The bulk of the cost is for staff salaries, but you can always find part time help pretty cheap.

Wow... AP goofed the headline. Should be HHS..

I'm amazed that it took 11 people to note that (even with the caveat I put on the headline).

Full speed ahead for the Alinskyites. They aren't finished destroying the country, not by a long shot. And where are is the GOP? Probably hitting the links, no doubt.

“Officials say the funding is expected to support 10 new health center sites in Georgia”

$5M for ten sites is really very little. That’s $500K per health center. For how many years?

What these grants do is help increase salaries of NGO Democrat team players.

There is a huge racket going on with the Democrats and academia more so than ever before.

They could have bought health insurance for a whole lotta folks instead. Same with all the cash they squandered on O Care.

WAKE UP! These Health Centers are just the first of the Obamacare Health Centers. They will be built in the cities and then in the towns and then in the villages. With Socialized Medicine, you have to centralize and, after the city people are conditioned to go to the local Health Center for all their medical needs, then you branch out. These are just the first of the funneling of Americans through our ‘new and better’ medical system.
