Top Democratic officials launched a concerted offensive Wednesday to define New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie in a negative light, believing that he has emerged from his reelection landslide as the Republican Partys strongest potential presidential contender for 2016.
Democratic strategist Steve Murphy said Christie is the strongest candidate for Republicans against former secretary of state Hillary Rodham Clinton, who will be the overwhelming favorite for the Democratic nomination if she chooses to run. He said Democrats would be wise to highlight Christies conservatism on economic issues.

I recall when Chris got the tummy tuck Mika claimed that Chris personally called her on phone to ask her advise since she wrote that book on how being fat is unhealthy.
(That’s the way to her heart)
More recently she said she gained some weight on purpose because her past obsession with being thin was unhealthy too, didnt mention if she was throwing it up LOL.
But the show uses all those pics of her when she was thin.
Ah, but I do live under commie rule, in the land of Crook County.
I just can’t find anything redeeming about Christie. Of course I enjoyed him taking it to the unions, in his town halls, but to see real courage with unions, I look at Scott Walker.
I see Christie in the vein my uncle used to say about certain people;
A friend to many and a friend to none. That is who CC is.
Here's why NJ Dems wanted him gone, from them(copied below):
Christie opposes abortion rights and closed six Planned Parenthood clinics.
He vetoed marriage equality.
He vetoed a surtax on millionaires.
He has retreated on climate change.
And he removed the only black justice from the state Supreme Court.
Meet Sen. Barbara Buono, the only Democrat willing to fight Christie/
My governor O Malley would NEVER do those.
That’s a list! On the other hand, hasn’t been rather soft on Islam? Didn’t he reject signing on to fight obamacare?
Didn’t he acquiese to gay marriage?
Hence my point; a friend to many....
I don’t see him as a man of principle. If it turns out I’m in incorrect, I am sure time will tell.
Obviously he wasn't taking direction from Mark Levin and Rush as if he did he would be packing up his office to leave now.
But he has voters and constituents in NJ, those who he got to re-elect him.
And those vetoes he made were vetoes that his Democrat alternatives wouldn't have made and they ALL went against the NJ polls.
Not every state is Texas. The Republicans that Levin and Rush praise just happen to live in districts where what they do is popular. Lou Gomert TX has the easiest job in the world.
Your comment regarding Gohmert is interesting. I doubt he feels he has it easy while trying to get Boehner to listen to reason. But I get your point.
So are you suggesting that if CC stood up for conservative values, he would have sunk? I guess blue states really are lost!
Life is nothing like the simple world portrayed on talk radio.
Principle?? On talk radio ‘principle’ only means what they say it does and keep in mind they only talk to the choir. Ted Cruz isn’t Senator of NY, NJ or CA, he's Senator of Texas a bright Red state. He goes home appreciated.
Lou Gohmert has great job always voting for ‘principle’ that just happens to be what 99% of what his district wants.
January 2 this year Gohmert had a great chance to challenge Bohner as Speaker by announcing a run for it before that vote. Then he could have shown us how he doesn't blink.
But no way would he take that job(none of them would) as Speaker. That job would be very unpleasant no fun at all. His job is fun
He gets to play ‘Holier than thou’ all while making his district happy.
So let me see if I understand you better now.
Are you saying that one should bend to what dems are howling for vs. what is best for the district/state/country?
Am I getting that right?
Maybe Cruz et al have it ‘easier’ because their constituents don’t have their head up their backside. Maybe, just maybe, those who understand where socialism leads to, are better at electing men and women to fight against it, for them!
Let me try again another way:
I am saying that NYS is not Alabama and that NY was way better off with Pataki and Giuliani than the Dems that came before and after them. Giuliani changed NYC from a cesspool to a livable place. Now its sinking.
When you turn on AM radio they are telling you that Christie was bad for NJ simply because they see him as a threat in a 2016 primary which is a different subject. It is dishonest.
Christie is the MOST conservative governor that could have been elected to that job as with Scott Brown in MA.
Its that simple.
How I wish you were sitting here talking to me, it would be far easier!
I understand the dynamics of an ‘r’ getting elected in MA/NJ. I lived in MA for years and trust me, I get it!
But now think back, what did Scott do when he got to DC?
I know I don’t have to remind you. My point is that they can run as an ‘r’ and be applauded for winning in dem country, but what do they do with that power?
I’m really confused what you are saying about AM radio and CC, can you try to clarify. Thanks
Brown cast critical votes against Obamacare that forced Obama to pass it in a form that is causing him and Dems trouble to this day.
He took a number of votes that were very brave for where he was in MA, and VERY easy for those in the Southern states. And he paid for it with his seat. I think talk radio attacking Brown after he lost was MORE of an incentive for Christie to make sure he won. It was really a bad play
You cant tell me you believe a state that elected Marxist Liz Warren would have elected a Cruz.
None of these are black and white and in other cases like McCain and Grahamnesty I would rather see a Dem in those seats if it came to that.
In the case of Christie, I would NEVER support him as a POTUS candidate. I see that as completely different. I was very down on McCain and Romney.
Won’t be too hard. All they have to do is say, “if you want a Dem in office, vote for a real one”.
Christie is a tool.
LOL, what insanity. NJ is still a basket case.
Benghazi? No he won’t. No establisment GOP will touch it.
Sure, he’s an “extreme conservative” to NJ because they are all Dem morons.
Bet you $100 she will.
Simple world for listeners? Man, how can you be sick of libs talking like one.
Disagree, that’s fine. Degrade, that’s childish.
I am glad you said MA.
I recall after Brown was beaten by the Marxist how Levin included him in list of those who lost because they were not conservative enough, as if a Cruz would win that seat(are his listeners that dumb?)
You know what I thought???
I thought that after Brown bravely voted with GOP on a number of votes unpopular with libs in Mass and then lost to a Marxist, and then got accused of losing because he was a RINO, that Christie is going to learn from that to do what he needed to do to win BIG so he doesnt end up the same as Brown.
And he did and it wasnt pretty last fall either when he hugged Obama UGGGH.
Who said that? When? I have podcasts...give me a person and date and I’ll research it.
No one said that.
Its simple, its Black and white on talk radio.
Its a world listeners want to live in that doesn’t exist.
Its good business.
I know first hand, I was once a true believer.
One thing easy to pick up is if you have an OK memory is how they contradict their own past statements while claiming its absolute truth.
