Top Democratic officials launched a concerted offensive Wednesday to define New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie in a negative light, believing that he has emerged from his reelection landslide as the Republican Party’s strongest potential presidential contender for 2016.

Democratic strategist Steve Murphy said Christie is “the strongest candidate” for Republicans against former secretary of state Hillary Rodham Clinton, who will be the overwhelming favorite for the Democratic nomination if she chooses to run. He said Democrats would be wise to highlight Christie’s conservatism on economic issues.

Christie will be a problem for Dems for a while.

He takes a number of positions that progressives hate.

But National Dems need him to use as an ‘positive’ example to school the GOP on who they should pick as candidates.

This should be fun to watch.

They are playing him up on purpose. He’s the next frozen corpse to be offered for electoral sacrifice, just like Dole, McCain, and Romney. He isn’t supposed to win, and they know most of us can’t stand him. Will be funny to see how much he tries to outliberal Hillary. The quisling party and their friends from across the aisle is telegraphing their move way too early.

Neither underestimate her or overestimate her. If they can find someone better, they will disappoint here again, because they don’t love her anymore than we do. There is nothing iconic about her.

He won in a bluest of states. Are they turning conservative?

Pshaw, no!

He was endorsed by Obama.

He’s going to get treated like a bad mom’s favorite nephew come to visit for the summer. The dems will rag on him until the end, then Obama will turn on him. Then he’ll be shown as the local boy he is.

And, no, he would not play outside of NJ. Al Smith, god bless him, couldn’t. there ARE hicks in the tristate, and that was when NY,NJ,Conn., were a hub of economic success. Not now.

Ok, allow me to rephrase.

I don't see that, at least not anytime soon.
He is their exhibit that the Tea Party is extreme, Mika loves him.

It goes :
Repent Republicans or you will never win elections again. Work with us to get things done like Christie does and you will win elections too”
