The White House on Tuesday refused to state its position on legislative proposals aimed at formalizing President Obama's promise that people who like their existing coverage should be allowed to keep it under the new health care law.
Rep. Fred Upton, R-Mich., and Sen. Mary Landrieu, D-La., introduced bills permitting insurers to reinstate plans that fall short of the coverage requirement under ObamaCare after insurance companies began sending out millions of cancellation letters, often citing the new health care law as the reason.
House Republicans intend to vote as early as next week on Upton's legislation. Senate Democrats spoke dismissively of the proposals, signaling they have no intention of permitting a vote on the issue that marks the latest challenge confronting supporters of the law.
Upton's legislation permits insurers to sell existing coverage plans that would otherwise be banned under the law, while Landrieu's proposal goes one step further by requiring it.

This is absolutely brilliant. The legislation, if put to Obama for his signature, puts him in the position of having to admit deliberate fraud, or sign it.
My concern is that it will give cover to lots of Dems who will otherwise get beat in 14.

THEY CAN RUN--BUT THEY CANT HIDE---The O/Care debacle is looking more and more like the 1992 House check- kiting scandal. Even w/ a strenuous political cover-up, 11 of the 22 kiters--even in safe seats--were tossed out by angry constituents (cackle).

Democrat enablers Scramble to Distance Themselves from Obamacare (RATS want a refund)
Breitbart | 10/30/13 | Wynton Hall / FR Posted November 01 by Libloather
**SNIP** Other Democrats now say they agree with Republicans that a delay of the individual mandate may be the only way to salvage the disaster and save face. "I think the administration is going to have to look at it [delay of the individual mandate]. and I'd encourage them to do so," said Rep. Gene Green (D-TX).
Five Democrats have now asked for the Obama Administration to seek a refund from the contractors responsible for the Obamacare website fiasco.
GUILTY CONSCIENCES FROM VOTING FOR O/CARE? Reps. Ron Barber (D-AZ), William Enyart (D-IL), Pete Gallego (D-TX), Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ), and Filemon Vela (D-TX) wrote a letter to Attorney General Eric Holder urging the reimbursement effort.

THIS'LL CHEER YOU UP, CONSERVATIVES David Cutler's early-on memo identified many of the problems plaguing O/care's disastrous rollout: secrecy (which a court cited in kiboshing Hillarycare), the lack of qualified personnel, inability to work with hesitant states and insurers...and so on.
Yet, despite the negatives, the serial lies, reporters still insist in portraying Obama as a "loyalist" who figured that "those who helped him enact the health-care law should be the ones to implement it........."
I, for one, doubt that "loyalty" is the reason Obama persisted in the disastrous plan.
Simply b/c "those who helped him enact the health-care law should be the ones to implement it" were the ones getting a piece of the trillion dollar action.
THIS MAKES MORE SENSE-- Obama insiders and crones needed to get paid off---if he had ditched them, they would have been screaming bloody murder.....coulda been threats that they'd even queer the deal if he cut them off.
The assumption is that insurers can reinstate the old policies. That is a fallacious assumption.
Insurance policies by their extremely geographically restricted nature require extensive work to develop annual changes. That work was not accomplished because the effort was directed toward Ocare compliance.
2014 is going to be an unavoidable disaster for many lacking insurance at work or medicare.
Requiring it ???
What is in these proposed bills?
How about pre-existing conditions?
The Damage has been done for the most part. Obama can't say anything. He promised big insurance increased revenue through the elimination of individual policies and added coverage. Follow the money
That’s our GOP light bulb star Fred Upton, trying to bail out Obama and the Democrats.
