Health Care Fukushima: 129 Million To Lose Their Plan
Investor's Business Daily ^ | November 5, 2013 | IBD EDITORIALS

Meltdown: A health care scholar estimates that if ObamaCare is fully implemented, including the employer mandate, 129 million people will not be able to keep their plans. The train wreck has become a nuclear meltdown.

The never-ending and ever-changing story line emanating from the damage control room at the White House has morphed from you can keep your plan, period, to we said you could keep the plan you liked at the rates agreed upon only if we decide it's not substandard.

That, we were told, would only apply to some 5% of Americans. They would get a better plan whether they liked it or not.

It's as if the government decided the car you drove to work was "substandard" and forced you to drive a "better" car like the government-subsidized Chevy Volt.

ObamaCare is kind of like "cash for clunkers" only with fines and penalties thrown in. We fork over more cash in the form of higher premiums and deductibles and get the clunker known as ObamaCare.

The story has changed again as commentators try to split the hair between "intentional deceit" and "lie."

"Now, if you have or had one of these plans before the Affordable Care Act came into law and you really like that plan, what we said was you could keep it, if it hasn't changed since the law was passed," President Obama said Monday night. Oh, so that was what you meant by "period," Mr. President.

In the old days when men were men, the President would address the American people in primetime, admit that he screwed up and was mistaken about his talking points, and vow to fix the mess as soon as possible.

He would take immediate responsibility for the issue and pledge to fix it himself.

Instead, we have a freaking child in the White House who does nothing but have tantrums and complain that things are broken while doing nothing to fix or otherwise help.

Yeah, but 124 million Americans are too stupid to know what’s good insurance from bad. Be glad we have Ivy League educated technocrats to run our lives. Phew, I was getting worried there for a minute.

EVERY Democrat who voted for this abomination needs to get thrown out of office.

At the very least, they should have to live under it.

How many Americans lacked health insurance in 2008? I think it may have been 30 million. Such a huge problem clearly demanded some fundamental transformation.

Well, I guess having 129 million lose coverage is one way to meet the challenge.

Diocletian fundamentally transformed the Roman Empire and marks the end of the classic Roman legal system.

Something of interest from Wikipedia:

Partly in response to economic pressures and in order to protect the vital functions of the state, Diocletian restricted social and professional mobility. Peasants became tied to the land in a way that presaged later systems of land tenure and workers such as bakers, armourers, public entertainers and workers in the mint had their occupations made hereditary.

This is basically the beginning of serfdom -- although slaves are owned by humans, serfs are different; they are tied to the land and simply lack the legal right to go where they wish.

As Johnny Rotten would say:

Every last one of those people should tell their congress critter that they will never be re-elected if ObamaCare is not killed. When millions of voters scream that in those weasels’ ears, ObamaCare will be withdrawn. These loathsome creatures only care about their seats, not the pain of their constituents, so that is how to attack them.

“All this for Liberal snake oil.”

Yup. But some of the hardcore lefties in the electorate absolutely love the taste.

IMHO

All part of the plan.

Palin was right.

Cruz was right.

The TEA Party was right.

The goal is to force the people to demand the government provide single-stop, affordable healthcare shopping.

They’ll do that by destroying 95% of the free-market offerings and then imposing a 15% national sales (VAT) tax to fund it.

Voila. Socialist medicine by “public demand.” Just the way the tyrants like it.

The Dems, the “smartest people in the room” at least by their own admission, will rue the day they alienated such a high percent of the middle by dislocating them from their health insurance.

Wasn't the stated reason for O’Care to insure 47 million uninsured? So in order to get those people insured about 129 million will lose their insurance??? Brilliant. Gee, I guess nobody could have seen this train wreck coming. (/sarc)

And the way for the Rats to get away with it at the polls is to grant amnesty to 30 + million criminal invaders that want free stuff.

The RINOs are lining up (McCain, Graham et ) to support it so they can still dine with Nero, or so they think.

For Clinton it was the word 'IS'.

For Obama it's the word 'IF'.
