Pentagon leaning toward cutting troops, beefing up tech (Prelude to defeat!)

The military must prepare for major upheaval, Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel said Tuesday, because meeting the budgetary and security challenges of the future will “require significant change across every aspect of our defense enterprise.”

And deep cuts in end strength could be just one of the results.

(snip)

“We may have to accept the reality that not every unit will be at maximum readiness, and some kind of a tiered readiness system is perhaps inevitable,” Hagel said. “This carries the risk that the President would have fewer options to fulfill our national security objectives.”

(snip)

“We will need to place more of an emphasis on our civilian instruments of power,” he said, “while adapting our military so that it remains strong, capable, second-to-none, and relevant in the face of threats markedly different from what shaped it during the Cold War and over the past two decades.”

Completely ignoring lessons of the past and setting America up for a future, massive defeat in the next big war (and there will be one, as always).

Building up the internal paramilitary, running down the real external military.

I figure we could do with fewer generals and admirals.

My understanding is the Army has more generals now than they did in WWII with 90 divisions. If they cut back to 1/9th the number of generals it would be a good start, to go along with their 10 divisions.

How does the Navy compare with Admirals and ships today vs. WWII, anyone know?

The federal government has one clearly defined role in the Constitution, and that’s to provide for the common defense. If the government isn’t doing that, I don’t see why the states should continue to be a part of the union.

“Can someone tell me the real reason why Hitler lost WWII?”

He was overwhelmed with numbers. If he would have had more time and foresight to develop the technology further they were developing at the time, we might be speaking German today. I’m not sure our tech sets us apart enough today to give us that kind of advantage very long.

I believe your title is incorrect. With more and more cultural Americans being removed from the services and with the potential use of troops contrary to the posse comutatis act, the smaller and less equipped the US Military, DHS, FBI etc. are the more likely we are to regain our freedom.

we might be speaking German today

English grammar is a lot simpler than German, but English spelling is a lot worse.

English is better for a world language IMHO.

English grammar has eliminated a lot of the case differences and case endings that are still in German. And English is getting simpler, e.g. the differences we still have in English, who/whom, he/him in subordinate clauses, are getting eliminated in common speech and informal writing.

We have too many people in the active duty military.

We need to downsize the active duty roster and increase the Reserves and National Guard exponentially. We also need to cut the massive waste in the contracting process in the Defense Department. Also, we are too top-rank heavy. Every general/admiral has a staff. We need to consolidate roles/mission and do away with some of the middle “heavy brass”.

Obama wants the sequester cuts repealed. He is using cuts to frontline military units the same way he used closing the national monuments to force the Pubs to go along. Just another variation of the “fire police and firefighters first” game that local pols use.

We will need to place more of an emphasis on our civilian instruments of power

that is exactly what the obozo said he intended to develop; a civilian force equal in number and as well armed as the US military. One should ask why do we need that kind of military strength on the streets of the US? Reason!! The Adolf obozo's civilian force is to be turned against the American people hence all of that ammo the government purchased in 2012. If the good people do not believe they are about to be taken over physically and do nothing while this government prepares to activate their plan, it will then be too late to effectively stop this marxist take over. The power elite and the NWO folks know that and are counting on the good citizens of the US to remain docile.

Yes, defeat...plus a lot of dead, undertrained or untrained service members.

And that is what the Marxist-Muzzie poofter occupying the White House wants.

So much easier to surrender and celebrate it as a “victory”.

You can’t run the DOD like NASA. There are consequences to a loss of operational readiness. No space shuttle for a few years- no problem. No fighter aircraft for a few years- death of America.

Because the World chose socialism over fascism.
