After Action Report from Chesterfield...
I was number 1270 out of a possible 3346. Expecting 40% turnout for my precinct.
From the Roanoke paper:
As of 3 p.m. in Salem, 14,530 votes had been cast out of 61,673 registered voters, a turnout of 23.56 percent.
In Botetourt County, 7,660 votes out of 23,195 registered voters had been cast as of 3 p.m., a turnout of 33.02 percent.
In Roanoke, the turnout count showed that, as of 3 p.m., 23.56 percent of 61,675 registered voters had voted.
Roanoke Countys turnout as of 3 p.m. was 31.68 percent, with 21,295 votes cast out of 67,224 registered voters.
Turnout numbers in Franklin and Montgomery counties were not yet available as of about 4 p.m.
I’m out in Franklin County near Smith Mountain Lake. This county voted 68% for Romney.
I went to vote about 11 AM and the line stretched out the door. A poll worker I know said it had been like that all morning.
There are a lot of retired people living around here and they are conservative - and they vote.
All this is anecdotal, but at least I’ll add my experience to the mix. Because if we get good turnout in counties like mine and poor turnout in NO VA, that helps Cuccinelli.
