The Senate on Monday advanced legislation banning workplace discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity marking a victory for gay rights supporters despite the bills dim House prospects.
The measure, known as the Employment Non-Discrimination Act, cleared a key test vote on Monday evening, 61 to 30.
The bill appeared to clinch 60 Senate votes the threshold needed to avoid a filibuster after Dean Heller (R-Nev.) said he would endorse the bill earlier Monday.

The only solution is to create laws that prohibit discrimination for each and every category.... In essence, make NO ONE special because EVERYONE is a part of some “oppressed” minority.
all the problems we have and they concentrate on men pushing turds or women pretending to be guys wearing strap ons.
As for this bill , then we don’t need it as there are enough laws we have protecting this special class and plus we have seen how they love to sue people who don’t go with their agenda and how they act like NAZIS and all this will do is give them more lawsuits to act like drama queens and victims which they live to do.
As for the GOP fools who voted for this then I hope they get booted out of office
This is what the Repulicaves do.
This is all that they do.
ENDA America.
NEXT UP---LOOK FOR 2016 Hillary's evil hand---she's been pimping to restore criminals' right to vote.
Heh---DEMS manage to fall asleep not by counting sheep---but by counting their voting blocs. Would make a great video. Dems in their flannel nighty-nites, counting criminals, gays, illegals, hyphenates, etc---jumping over the fence (cackle).
Just need to remember these RINO votes in the future...
The purge needs to continue....
I do not think it will pass the house. But if it does, get ready to start seeing transgender elementary school teachers in full regalia, or transgender generals in the military. We are the laughing stock of the world.
We’re under deadlines for budget and debt increase and this is the most important thing on their plate right now? Really?
If it doesn’t pass the House, our King will issue an Executive Order making it so...forget the Constitutional process...
Face it, folks, our country is gone.
Open oppression of Christians is right around the corner ...
Ho hum...
I see “our” Democrats are once again trying to make their trial-lawyer campaign “contributors” richer — under the guise of “helping” some poor “innocent” victims somewhere.
A person who dresses like a normal person for a job interview and, then, after getting the job, demands the right to dress as an abnormal person, has commited employment fraud. Period. THAT is the issue.
An employer should be able to defend itself from this kind of legalistic rip-off by presenting a job interview photo that shows the image that the not-so-innocent fraudster deliberately an ddeceitfully “sold” to that employer.
This is great! If my boss tells me I am fired, all I have to do is tell him I am homosexual, and I can keep my job. What a great county this is.
Are we actually seeing where a lot of sexual orientations truly lie in that reeking Senate?
Republicans caving like cowards??
Republicans giving libs a tool to attack Christians??
Republicans embracing deviancy??
Color me unsurprised.
I have always believed the Civil Rights Act covered all persons - regardless of who or what they are. Am I wrong??
OK, let's try and figure where this is going. First the Senate Dems pass their latest pro-queer bill. The Repubs in Congress are not likely to give it the same rubber-stamp approval.
Next, one of the Democrats' Usual Suspects will rail against those evil Republican homophobes, which will be followed immediately by the MSM piling on and being the usual left wing echo chamber in a transparent attempt to change the subject from the healthcare debacle to anything else.
Expect a lot of these shenanigans as the dreaded November 30th deadline approaches, because just between us guys, I doubt that there is a single thoughtful person in this country, including the poor bastards trying to fix the website, who believes they'll have it done by then.
The only thing more certain than this is that Obama will try to pin the failure on the IT guys.

I’m a Catholic. I want a law passed that prevents discrimination against Catholics and their beliefs (yes, I know we’re supposed to be protected under the Constitution, but Obummer either doesn’t understand or hasn’t read it). I feel Catholics (as well as other Christians) are being discriminated against by Obummer non-care and other ways by this Administration.
Yes the Senate is.
