I’m just wondering why they doubled and tripled and quadrupled down on what was an outrage to begin with. They seemed to really believe they would find something. If you were a rogue cop, making a WAG on a random citizen, and you came up empty, you would ordinarily give up at that point, not take him to a hospital to do a colonoscopy. I think they really did think he was holding drugs, and used a bogus traffic stop to pull him over and search for them. Again, the question is, what made them so sure?? And what made you read things into comments that aren’t there?

There are always simple ways out of such a situation and Mr. Eckert was unaware of them. LEO can exercise constitutional restraint or authoritarian tyranny. Us serfs can only sit and watch.
