CNN's Piers Morgan seized on a recent "expose" of Pastor Rafael Cruz by Mother Jones to trash his Tea Party star son as "scary." The magazine cited the elder Cruz's "extreme views" in several speeches he gave to evangelicals and the Tea Party.
"Rafael Cruz blends the far reaches of extreme conservatism and Christian fundamentalism," the article said. Among his "inflammatory remarks," Cruz said Obama believes "government is your god" and has "a clear agenda to destroy American exceptionalism" and redistribute wealth. What else is new?
The leftist publication complains the immigrant-turned-successful-entrepreneur has an outsized influence over his son. So, "What Rafael Cruz says matters."
Yet no such scrutiny was paid to Obama Sr., to whom the president dedicated "Dreams from My Father."
In 1965, the elder Obama, a state economist, wrote an eight-page critique of Kenya's post-colonial government. In "Problems Facing Our Socialism," he called for Soviet-style reforms such as expropriation of land and punitive taxes to redistribute wealth on a massive scale.
Obama Sr. urged the pro-Western regime that employed him to abandon soft socialism and implement full-bore communism. He was eventually booted from his bureaucratic post for being too radical.
Obama Sr.'s extremist ideas never received mainstream coverage. The networks reported not a word of his 1965 paper during the 2008 campaign.
Only Politico.com dared to mention his communist tract. But it quoted an African professor who denied Obama Sr. was a socialist. He was just "a liberal."
The elder Cruz's influence, on the other hand, has become a major issue. Mother Jones says he "flooded" his son "with Austrian School libertarian economics."
Heaven forfend, he was raised to respect market economics and the American system that allowed his family the freedom to open their own business and escape a life of poverty.

Any media hack that relies on Mother Jones as his source and inspiration, or even reads leftist fanaticism from Mother Jones, isn’t fit to be heard or read by the public. Mother Jones makes Mao and Stalin look fluffy pink.
In the “secret” world of conservatism and anti-communism, (sh, don’t tell anyone we exist), “Mother Jones” magazine is affectionately known as “Mother F*cker” magazine, a term of endearment we reserve for all reds.
One of the oldest red rags in print, along with “The Nation”, long in the control of the Communist Party USA/sympathizers from CPUSA organizer Carey McWilliams, to pro-red disinformation writer Victor Navasky, to his successor, red-leading Katrina Van De Heuvel (the wife of leftist “Soviet/Russia” scholar Prof. Stephen Cohen).
Also have the socialist “The Progressive”.
At least “Ramparts” is dead though some of their writers are still around spreading their anti-American poison in other publications and online.

As opposed to the Marxian School of Economics a la Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels. That’s more palatable to the lefty kooks at Mother Jones and to many of thier friends in the Democratic Party.
