impy, here is the script for Maine CD #2 in ‘14:
1. GOP liberals get behind one candidate (Kevin Raye plays that role in ‘14)
2. A strong conservative alternative is his main challenger (Bruce Poliquin appears to be cast in that role)
3. The grassroots right splinters up their vote with a few candidates running well back with anywhere from 5% to 16% of the vote.
4. Therefore, the GOP liberal wins by a decent margin.
There are 2 other candidates in the race so far, filing deadline for major parties in is March.
They are Blaine Richardson, described as a “Tea Party activist”, he lost to Raye 60-40 in the 2 way 2012 primary.
And former State Senator Richard Rosen who was when in office a member of something called the “American Legislative Exchange Council” which sounds like a conservative organization.
I invite 2 of the 3 conservatives to drop out of the race so Raye doesn’t coast to an easy plurality win.

Richard Rosen is OUT in Maine CD 2.
Two conservatives remain in race with Raye.
