NYTimes Musters ‘Hillary’ Defense of O’Care: ‘What Difference Does it Make?’
Townhall.com ^ | November 4, 2013 | John Ransom

The New York Times brought out the big guns in defense of Obamacare.

Faced with a growing chorus of complaints about the keystone health insurance reform that bears Obama’s name, the New York Times shrugged.

They shrugged because that’s all they have left.

The shoulder shrug, by the way, is a sign of the lie.

The Times shrugged off the problems with the website, the problems with rising insurance premiums and the major problem with the president’s promise that if you like your insurance you get keep it.

The problem the president faces is that when he promised Americans they could keep their insurance he was either wrong and didn’t know it or he was lying and did know it.

It’s a problem with all the Democrat policies: They either are wrong or lying.

Because, now we know that you can’t keep your policy if you like it. You have to get a new policy that more often than not will cost you more because you are paying for someone else’s benefits.

“Mr. Obama clearly misspoke when he said that [you could keep your insurance if you liked it],” writes the New York Times Editorial Board.

But what difference does it make they continue?

Those policies weren’t worth keeping anyway say the Manhattan liberals who think that $541 is a reasonable sum to pay monthly for parking.

“By law, insurers cannot continue to sell policies that don’t provide the minimum benefits and consumer protections required as of next year”

So what?

“[I]nsurers are not allowed to abandon enrollees,” the New York Times says. “They must offer consumers options that do comply with the law, and they are scrambling to retain as many of their customers as possible with new policies that are almost certain to be more comprehensive than their old ones.”

And MORE expensive.

It’s simple math: Cover more people, cover more things and you have increased costs. Someone pays, even if perhaps it might not be you. But if you’re insured already, it probably is you who does pay.

And in that case you were the very people who were promised that if you liked your insurance you could keep it.

That’s the dirty secret that Obama and the Democrats have tried to keep from Americans since they first introduced the Obamacare legislation.

It’s why they didn’t want anyone to read it.

It’s why they didn’t want anyone to debate it.

It’s why they shouted from the top of the rooftop amid Republican doubts: “But it’s the law!”

It’s simple math: Cover more people, cover more things and you have increased costs.

At first we were told that thousands of people would have their policies cancelled for “more comprehensive” and more expensive ones that offer benefits that most people didn’t ask for.

Then it was estimated --a few days later—Obamacare would affect in the hundreds of thousands policies in an insurance bait and switch that under any state’s laws would land a real insurance agent in front of a disciplinary body.

Now it’s estimated that at least 1.5 million and perhaps as many as 93 million people won’t be able to keep their insurance.

It’s simple math: Cover more people, cover more things and you have increased costs.

According to Forbes the administration itself on page 34,552 estimated “that 66 percent of small employer plans and 45 percent of large employer plans will relinquish their grandfather status by the end of 2013,” and thus become illegal under Obamacare.

“How many people are exposed to these problems?” asks Forbes, “60 percent of Americans have private-sector health insurance…. As to the number of people facing cancellations, 51 percent of the employer-based market plus 53.5 percent of the non-group market (the middle of the administration’s range) amounts to 93 million Americans.”

But, hey, what difference does it make?

We only have four dead Americans, said Hillary.

Or 93 million Americans without the insurance they liked, says the Times.

They’re just numbers after all.

Yeah, as we know now—-much to our sorrow--Liberals are THAT bad at math.

And it’s just that simple.

Yesterday I was reading about a cancer patient losing his plan right in the middle of treatment. Communism is responsible for 100 million deaths ......make that 101 million and counting.

On MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” today, they were running the clip of Axlerod saying that “only 5% will lose their insurance,” as if these 14 million people, many suffering from chronic diseases, are expendable.

It sounded very much like a Nazi, defending Hitler, by pointing out that they had “only killed 6 million Jews,” a very small percentage.

N-i-c--e- insight----you nailed Axelrod's patented schtick---trying to appear "harmless."

I use to get my biggest laught of the day when this Chi/mobster was talking into cameras in front of the WH---putting on his "harmless" act----looking like an innocent deer caught in the headlights.

This Chicago criminal is now a CBS advisor and runs his own political science school at the U of Chicago---the Chicago jerkman fixed US elections to get Obama into the WH--and now he's considered a political expert.

Beer is only 5% alcohol so I suppose Axelrod would be unconcerned if his driver drank all he wanted. After all it’s only 5%

The dirty secrets that Obama and the Democrats have tried to keep from Americans since they first introduced the Obamacare legislation are now out in the open. It’s why they didn’t want anyone to read it. It’s why they didn’t want anyone to debate it. It’s why they shouted down Republicans misgivings.”

Hundreds of thousands of Americans are getting cancellation letters b/c their h/care policies do not live up to sap-happy Obama's utopian Marxist dream. Yet, they heard Obama’s endlessly repeated assurances: “if you like your health care plan, you’ll be able to keep your health care plan”...at least 24 times.... .......Americans now realize they've been screwed-over by (1) Obamacare, (2) Democrats, AND, (3) Obama himself.

======================================================

PASS THE WORD Word is spreading that irate cancelled policyholders see the O/Care debacle as the kissin' cousin of the 1992 House check-kiting scandal. Soon Capitol Hill will be awash in pols' flop sweat. Back In 1992, despite the cover-up, 11 of the 22 kiters---even in safe seats--were tossed out by angry constituents (cackle).

Democrats Scramble to Distance Themselves from Obamacare (RATS want a refund)
Breitbart | 10/30/13 | Wynton Hall / FR Posted November 01 by Libloather

**SNIP** Other Democrats now say they agree with Republicans that a delay of the individual mandate may be the only way to salvage the disaster and save face. "I think the administration is going to have to look at it [delay of the individual mandate]. and I'd encourage them to do so," said Rep. Gene Green (D-TX).

Five Democrats have now asked for the Obama Administration to seek a refund from the contractors responsible for the Obamacare website fiasco.

GUILTY CONSCIENCES FROM VOTING FOR O/CARE? Reps. Ron Barber (D-AZ), William Enyart (D-IL), Pete Gallego (D-TX), Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ), and Filemon Vela (D-TX) wrote a letter to Attorney General Eric Holder urging the reimbursement effort.

=========================================

ACTION NOW.....printout a summary of the pro-policyholder Republican amendment, with a list of EVERY SINGLE DEMOCRAT who voted against protecting policyholders, and use it in upcoming elections....in letters to the editor, ads, fliers, bumper stickers, lawn signs, etc..........

The NYT stupidly defended the meltdown of the billion dollar web site?

===============================================

healthcare.gov failures include: billion dollar pay
checks to cronies, insiders, and Mrs O's Princeton classmate.......

No problem, taxpayers---"cutting edge" govt is fixing the web site.

OBAMA CALLS Mrs O: "Before she pocketed some of the billion dollars,
your pal shoulda told us they didn't teach web site construction at Princeton."

SECY SIBELIUS TO OBAMA: "While you're on your brand new brick
phone, Mr President, get a few more cases of these cute floppy disks
Mrs O's Princeton classmate provided."

==============================================

During the web site crisis, Mrs O displayed her usual “tolerance and compassion” (sob). She ordered the WH kitchen to provide the hardworking fix-it team with glass carafes of Chock-ful-of-Nuts coffee, cans of evaporated milk, packets of aspartame, and fresh made donuts fried in olestra.

=======================================================

Toni Townes-Whitley, Senior Vice President at "CGI Federal" for
Civilian Agency programs, healthcare.gov designers
is Princeton Class of
1985---same dumbed-down class as Michelle Obama. Both are members of
the racial separatist organization----Association of Black Princeton Alumni.

" At Princeton, Michele and I took intellectually challenging courses like
Black Is Beautiful, How To Intimidate Employers with The Civil Rights Act,
Getting Ahead Using Your Skin Color, with graduate studies in Pay-Me-I'm-
A- Victim methodologies."

The Rs need to start calling for a re-vote now that we know about some of the lies told to sell it.

And Rs need to start talking about the employer health plans that we’ll lose when employer mandate starts.

RE VOTE!

Uuuhhhh,mmmm . . .

If there are shortcomings in this new program, it is because that is how the program was designed. This president gave birth to this health care program. He took credit for it. He considers it his signature achievement.

If he advocated the program by promising something that is the opposite of what is now happening, it is because HE designed it that way. If it costs more, it is because HE designed it to be more expensive. If folks are losing the coverage they wanted to keep, it is because HE designed that to happen.

There is nothing bad that is now happening that was not forewarned. If those problems have now surfaced, it is precisely because HE designed the program realizing those potential problems and deciding their occurrence was NOT important or relevant.

It can’t be said loudly enough . . . THIS IS HIS BABY. IF IT IS CAUSING YOU TROUBLE, IT IS BECAUSE HE WANTED THE TURMOIL. TURMOIL WAS DESIGNED INTO THIS PROGRAM INTENTIONALLY.

No, one death by a firearm ... say someone with the initials TM ... and the libs will use and abuse that as an excuse to try to infringe on our rights. "If it saves just one life...it's for the children!" {snort} No, it's for control.

But when one of their policies wastes billions, infringes on our rights, and gets millions dropped from insurance - no doubt (a statistical certainty) results in a few dozen deaths and probably shortens the lives of thousands... Hey, we're just supposed to write that off as the cost of doing business. {expletive} hypocrites.

Either way—totalitarianism. Mao wasn’t exactly like PolPot or Stalin or Hitler. But it was in the end, all the same.
