BOSTON (CBS) An easy method of family planning, with no big surgery or pills to remember, is becoming a concern for a growing number of women. They say Essure, tiny coils implanted in the fallopian tubes, are causing horrific side effects.
Basically every single day it felt like my ovaries were getting stabbed, said Jessica LaVallie of Palmer.
Kendra Kilroy of Quincy said she had severe pains that were debilitating, and Marie Larsen of Holliston said she suffered with back pain, hip pain, and memory loss.
Melanie Goshgarian of Burlington now believes she suffers from an allergy to nickel as a result of Essure.
Kilroy described how her declining health impacted her quality of life. I missed out on a lot with my kids. You know field trips. I remember my daughter crying. It was her birthday, and her very first field trip, and I couldnt go. I was just so sick.
After an Essure coil is inserted in the fallopian tube, tissue grows around the coil and seals it to prevent pregnancy.
The procedure results in permanent sterilization and is simple to do. It takes a matter of minutes and is performed in a doctors office.

Contraception is a moral evil. Why are people surprised there are side effects to many of the major methods of artificial contraception?
Really? Well what is your opinion about THIS thread, where the incubator is, presumably, not as moral as you?
Here’s an opinion for you - contraception is a moral evil. And, people should not be surprised when serious side effects occur with many forms of artificial contraception.
You mean like foams or condoms or dams or any of a dozen other manners of contraception?
Anyone that goes for that is really really STUPID!
i think there are a lot of people who lived better lives because they put their sheepskin to good use
“Foams, condoms, dams,,,,” - I can just feel the romance. You forgot the IUD and diaphram. If you really want to get her in the mood, convince her to insert one of those female condoms - now we’re talking true love, marital bliss here, you know?
It’s not nice to fool Mother Nature.
No. I said many, not all. The Pill, for instance, is an abortifacient. The Ortho Evra “patch” can lead to blood clots and no one gives a damn if women die from it as long as men get to use them for sex, right? http://www.nydailynews.com/life-style/health/ortho-evra-birth-control-patch-higher-blood-clot-risks-remain-market-fda-article-1.990882

“i think there are a lot of people who lived better lives because they put their sheepskin to good use”
God seems to think otherwise if the teachings of Christianity matter to anyone.
I’ll not argue the morality (or lack thereof) of contraception BUT the insertion of foreign objects hasn’t had a very good track record for safety. So without regard to Pat Robertson, I don’t understand why people would do it.
The best birth control foe a woman is to take responsibility for their body and exercise self control and choose to not have sex when they are in their fertile stage.
“Well what is your opinion about THIS thread, where the incubator is, presumably, not as moral as you?”
I’m not claiming to be moral. I just see no reason to pretend that what is immoral is moral.
Yep. In the end, nature wins.
well it matters to me and better educated people make better decisions i gotta go i have a village to burn
Yikes. Placing some foreign object in your body and allowing your tissue to grow around it. And they don’t expect side effects? Why not just have someone shoot you with a .22?
What could possibly go wrong?
and if people think obama is bad just wait till they have hillary shoved up their yahoos
