Just learned of Lancey’s untimely passing on another thread, and I was shocked and saddened. He has been a stalwart poster here since the early days of Free Republic, and I shall miss his posts, and his wisdom, immeasurably. I will say a prayer for his soul, and another one for his family. Very saddened to have just found this out. I remember seeing a number of comments and contributions and made mention once that I liked his screen name.

I was going to tell him tonight I was watching “The Cincinnati Kid” again and of course Lancey Howard was Edward G. Robinson’s character in that movie. Robinson said that he felt his performance in that film was the best one he ever gave in his career.
