A conservative, nonprofit group based in America's capital is suggesting a new election game plan that challenges Republicans who don't want to talk about issues like abortion and homosexual "marriage."
The group American Principles in Action (APIA) believes three social institutions must be protected to ensure a thriving society: religious liberty, the integrity of marriage and the family, and the sanctity of human life. Toward that end, APIA suggests Republican candidates must not call a "truce" on social issues, but should consider them an asset for the party. That strategy is part of an analysis entitled "Six Steps to Success for the GOP in 2014 and Beyond."
Maggie Gallagher, co-author of the report and a senior fellow for APIA, cites the campaign of Virginia gubernatorial candidate Ken Cuccinelli as an example. Cuccinelli was asked by a reporter if he would promote the pro-life cause as governor.
"His response was to say I will not use the political capital of the governor's office to push on the life issues even though I'm pro-life," Gallagher recalls. "And the first thing that does is it demoralizes everyone in the base. They never see him as a strong pro-life champion because he's walking away from it in the campaign."

Our founders didn’t enter into the continental convention with an eye on how to compromise. They went in to promote the ideals of the people they represented and they stood form on those ideals.
Republican campaigners on the other hand when answering a divisive yes or no question will give a yes or no answer which automatically alienates a half of the electorate.

Marxists do not govern. They are parasites who destroy the host and when exposed they blend into the woodwork until the next opportunity arises.
In the process, instead of doing anything useful, they wipe out their political enemies and those that pose them.
We are fast becoming Venezuela. If Chavez lived another 10 years, the death camps would have appeared.
Isn’t it strange that “progressives” who are strongly opposed to:

are ALSO encouraging “conservatives” to make “social issues” the core of conservative campaigns?
NOT the incompence of “progressive” government...
NOT the dishonesty of “progressive” politicians...
NOT the “bait-and-switch” tricks of “progressive” leaders...
It’s almost like “progressives” are trying to dirty-trick conservatives into ignoring issues that the majority of voters care about before the elections have even taken place.
I still remember Obama’s wish before the last election: “Please, pretty please, let me run against Romney...”
I absolutely agree. But they campaign better than republicans. They win by hook or by crook. They then get elected and loot the wealth of a country.
They point is how to defeat them during campaigns. We are not doing that right now.

The GOP’s problem is, we have gone way too far into exporting jobs to China.
We need jobs right here in America.
Our unemployment rate is way too high. And it’s not improving. Meanwhile we keep sending American jobs to China.
Stop it. Bring back US jobs. A lot of US jobs. And change the laws, to keep them from being sent to begin with.
Now.
Jobs in China do not help Americans.
Bring them home.
B-b-b-but, that won’t get them invited to Ben Bradlee and Sally Quinn’s house for brie-n-vin!
The jobs are going to China because the administration is outlawing them in this country.
Over-regulating each and every facet of business operations puts a burden on business. Millions of pages of laws and regulations to follow, countless federal, state, county, and city agencies looking over your shoulder. Reporting procedures that require huge amounts of manpower. All of these things are reasons jobs are being driven out of this country.
Maybe but the Constitutional convention was nothing but compromise. Between northern and southern states over slavery, between big and small states over representation, between believers in centralized power and those preferring federalism. The US Constitution is one compromise after another. And when the framers couldn't get the states to ratify the original, they were forced to compromise again by agreeing to the Bill of Rights.
Sounds like Gallagher is giving them some good advice. I sure hope they take it.
