For awhile I was enjoying (using the term fairly loosely) McDonald’s dollar menu... they had a double cheese burger on it. Now, I am given to understand they have raised the price on that item. While I do not really care for McD’s food, I have to give them credit for that sandwich ...it was a pretty good deal at a dollar a pop.
I do not know what they charge now with their “Value Menu” replacing their “dollar menu” (so they can jack up prices on us, damn it!) but you may wish to just stop in McD’s and see what they are charging for it. It really wasn’t a bad-tasting sandwhich

I’ve had both and the Burger King sandwich is better, IMO.
