This is the same trick they pulled with the obvious mental derangement that is homosexuality in the 70’s. In that many AMA leaders were in the closet and were blackmailed into declaring abnormal as normal.

“admitted is that their discipline is not a science.”

From pseudo-science to political activism. Marx said every facet of life must be politicized, which is one reason they can’t co-exist with Christianity or Judaism.

Yes, and when they voted, it was mid-summer and many regular members were out of town.

Legitimizing immorality has been a goldmine for shrinks, and for drug companies.

The fascist and eugenicist powers that be have been on this curve since long before Kinsey published his bogus data. I'm reading Judith Reisman's book on this now, and it was a far uglier situation than even I had contemplated. As far as I am concerned, she picked the wrong target. Kinsey was a pawn of the Rockefeller Foundation. If he hadn't been there they would have found some other sadomasochistic homosexual pedophile to redefine what constitutes "normal" human sexual behavior.

There's nothing quite like advocating a policy that increases your customer base. What other medical profession could get away with pushing policies that make their customers sick? /rhetorical question

Despite what are often the best of intentions, it's happened.

The real problem is our legal addiction to top-down control systems, from state licensure to college accreditation. We simply must get back to bottom-up control mechanics, with competing accrediting bodies insured for the consequences of issuing defective commendations unknowingly and criminal penalties for doing so knowingly. In any field in which there is uncertainty, single point control systems simply have to end.

Imagine how absurd this would be in any legitimate scientific field.

“We took a vote and decided that arsenic is no longer poisonous.”

“We took a vote and decided to change hydrogen from one proton to two.”

“We took a vote and decided to reduce the gravitational force.”

“We took a vote and decided to round off pi to just 3.”

The debate as to the legitimacy of psychology being a science is taught in psych class. The interesting thing about psychology is that it tries to study traits, but defining traits and measuring them is a problem. From a text: “For our purposes, a psychological trait only exists as a construct—an informed, scientific concept developed or constructed to describe or explain behavior. We can’t see, hear, or touch constructs, but we can infer their existence from overt behavior. In this context, overt behavior refers to an observable action or the product of an observable action...”

As soon as I read that I realized that psychologists are much like Christians in that Christians, or those who believe in the Biblical God, cannot prove He exists but can study Him through constructs. It also seems that we were made in His image—with a negative correlation.

So, Mr. Luther? When and where do we nail the new theses to the APA’s door?

If a person’s sense of God consists merely of mental constructs then that “construct” can get in the way of the actual image of Christ the Holy Spirit is trying to form in the individual. A poorly constructed “God construct”, self imposed and maintained becomes an idol, or a false image of who God is. The Bible does spell out the character traits that are exhibited by those operating healthily as a Christian, within the image of Christ so ordered directly by the Spirit himself. People will make mistakes and still sin, but confession and forgiveness restore balance to that individual as he continues to mature thru-out his life.

Christianity opens itself to psychological proof, hence Paul’s statement...”the outer man perishes and the inner man is renewed day by day.” Studies show that very religious Christian people(in the aggregate), the ones who cite a personal relationship with Christ, tend to have happier marriages, longer lives, deal with illness more effectively and deal with death(loved ones or their own imminent deaths) more realistically. They are the first to help out in crisis where possible and are generous givers to charities even giving beyond what would be expected given their own relative states of wealth and poverty. These are practical ways that the effects of the Holy Spirit can be measured, despite claims of not being able to “see and measure” the Holy Spirit. You can’t “see” radio waves but we know what they do!

When and where do we nail the new theses to the APA’s door?

By finding a State to dispense with licensure in favor of insurance and tort reform, thence to set up a competitor in the validation business.

BTW, what I am suggesting is analogous to what I propose to do with teacher certification in this article on education. Scroll down the the section entitled "WeTest."

They did something similar with rape (”paraphilic coercion”) by deciding it was not a mental disorder. The arguments were that it can be a crime punishable by imprisonment. But don’t use the psychiatric community to further punish the rapists. If the prison time is inadequate punishment, change the laws to allow longer sentences.

Ah, the dangers of not realizing who Jesus is because we have left out the Old Testament. Jesus is quite capable of creating another flood (but because there is a promise of it not occurring we are assured it will not because God cannot lie), of sending people to hell, of ruling with a rod of iron. When He was here He gave internal peace, the next time, international.

With so many Christians in service and being counselors, how did psychology become so pagan?

To: Carry_Okie; All

The reason I alluded to Martin Luther was because Huldah, with his quote that I copied, cited some of the same conditions that brought on the Protestant Reformation against the Catholic Church. Good people are going to just have to rebel, no matter what sorts of attempted public humiliations that may occur.

Decriminalization or legalizing pedaphilia is the “whites or their eyes” moment when liberal progressive government loses all moral and spiritual authority and the righteous will have all spiritual justification to proclaim,,”We ought not follow the unjust laws of men but rather the laws of God!”. A protest of the APA and their members may be considered a “Fort Sumpter” moment.

All Christian families should leave California(and any other severely progressive areas) now except for those Christians still specifically called to evangelize there...their children are much too important to risk the mind rape socialist perverts would like to do to them via the public schools and other institutions. Normalization Bias apathy must be broken thru now...for as the Bible states...”It is better to fall at the rock of Offence and be broken than to be crushed to pieces under it!

Things are “not normal” anymore, and won’t be until Jesus sets up his kingdom.

I am so called. So is one of my girls, now a resident adviser at Stanford. The other left for Utah, where she rolls her eyes at girls getting married in college with no idea of what they are doing. The divorce rate there shows it too.

I do suggest reading that part of the article.
