The Man Washington Fears Most (Senate Conservatives Fund email)
Senate Conservatives Fund ^ | 11/2/13

Fellow Conservatives:

Remember this name: MATT BEVIN. He's the man the Washington establishment fears most.

Matt Bevin (R-KY)Matt Bevin (R-KY) is the conservative candidate running against U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell (R-KY) in Kentucky. He is attempting to defeat a party leader in a primary election, something that has never been done in the history of this country.

Mitch McConnell refuses to listen to the grassroots and has sided with the Democrats to pass bailouts, debt increases, tax hikes, and Obamacare funding.

If Matt Bevin wins, it will be a major blow to the big-spending DC establishment. Not only will it replace a liberal, 30-year incumbent Republican with a constitutional conservative, it will send a message to every politician in Washington that we, the people, control this country, not them.

Please read John Harwood's interview with Matt Bevin below and then forward this email to every freedom-loving American you know.

You can also help by donating to Matt Bevin's campaign. He is up against tens of millions of dollars so every contribution counts.

Sincerely,

Matt Hoskins Executive Director Senate Conservatives Fund

They're going all out to protect McConnell. The McConnell and Cornyn controlled NRSC are now withholding any further contracts with firms that support or assist the Senate Conservatives Fund.

The line is that the NRSC exists to elect republicans in the senate. But in reality, they exist to elect and re-elect only establishment republicans, go along types who tow the line.

Matt Bevin and Joe Carr and Lee Bright and Bob Maness, etc. are a threat to the establishment republicans' liberalism.

The leadership need to be taken down!

Withholding contracts? That’s illegal and if we can find proof they’ll be in jail, we won’t have to worry about a primary. These men are evil

I agree—but easier said than done, I think.

Here’s a question. Romney beat Obama by 22% in KY. How did a Dem get elected governor?

“Romney beat Obama by 22% in KY. How did a Dem get elected governor?”

Romney is a Democrat.

I don’t believe the NRSC is required to contract with anyone by law. It is at least in theory a non-governmental organization.

Whether these men are evil or not is another question entirely. ;)

“If Matt Bevin wins, it will be a major blow to the big-spending DC establishment.”

That would be just fine with me.

Romney is a Democrat.

So if Bevin wins the primary, the Democrats will take the Senate seat?

The line is that the NRSC exists to elect republicans in the senate. But in reality, they exist to elect and re-elect only establishment republicans

That really stands to reason - given that the members of the NRSC - the National Republican Senatorial Committee are the incumbent Republican Senators. If the SCF is going to go after an incumbent, let alone the Senate Leader, then it will be tangling with the NRSC...that's just the reality of the situation.

So far Matt Bevin has pretty much ruined any chance of winning by very bad missteps in launching his campaign (you don't start with negative ads when you are a complete unknown and then invite a barrage of negative counter attacks from someone with a lot more resources than you do) - but perhaps the SCF ads (which are pretty frequent) will be a new fresh start for him...we'll see what affect they have. So far Bevin's fundraising has been very unimpressive, not indicating any sort of groundswell movement in his direction or against McConnell. Senator Paul is strongly backing McConnell as well.

The first GOP governor in over 30 years blew it big time through scandal (some of it manufactured by a very partisan Dem AG and a compliant media) and was actually indicted while in office (reached a deal with prosecutors while in office to have the case dismissed) and many other missteps and he was tossed in a landslide after only one term - very bad impression for the first GOP governor in generation. Beshear’s administration has been rather non-eventful as far as scandal and the GOP nominated a very bad candidate to run against him (the sitting Senate President who had high negatives in the state for his abrasive style of running the Senate and had years of negative media coverage) for re-election and we got stomped again.

The reality of the situation is that if one of their own doesn’t get the nomination, that is, if the people dare to nominate somebody whom the NRSC doesn’t support, then they’d rather the democrat win. Anything to assure a conservative is defeated. The NRSC supported Lisa Murkowski over the REPUBLICAN nominee in Alaska in 2010. They withheld funds from Ken Buck and Sharon Angle, but had no problem sending money to Arlen Specter and Charlie Crist (both of whom later became democrats). The endorsed or supported every single moderate candidate over every single conservative candidate. They are in the game to get like-minded people elected to the senate, not republicans.

Most likely the social issues prevent them from voting for a RAT POTUS, but a RAT that shares their views on guns and social issues can get elected governor.

Why does Mi vote most often for RAT POTUS but they control zero on the state level, not a single branch of state government or state office?

That is what the dumbass NE Rockyfeller RINO’s can’t understand, without the social issues in the republican platform, the Demonrats would sweep the southern states too!

Virtually none of that is accurate - you would have pay little to no attention to anything that goes on (low information crowd) to make those statements.

The NRSC fully supported Sharon Angle after she was the nominee financially - doing much of their work separate as she initially refused the direct assistance of the staff they sent. Karl Rove’s groups spent substantial amounts of money in that race as well.

The NRSC also fully Joe Miller’s campaign in Alaska in 2010 and did not do anything on behalf of Murkowski after Miller won the nomination. Indeed, virtually Miller’s entire campaign was through assistance with the NRSC.

The NRSC also fully supported Ken Buck and devoted considerable resources on his behalf in that campaign. Karl Rove’s groups as well.

Specter was an incumbent GOP Senator in 2004 so he was an incumbent member of the committee...he’s not going to oppose himself, as I stated.

Crist was the incumbent GOP governor and, at the time, very popular and he was recruited by the NRSC to run for the seat. Rubio fully got the NRSC’s backing after Crist jumped ship and when Rubio was nominated.

It’s fine to not like the NRSC and some of things it does and has done, but making comments that have no basis in accuracy or truth is not appropriate.

Long term such an NRSC philosophy is destined to make the NRSC irrelevant.

Perhaps - not arguing the point or on behalf of what they seek to accomplish - it is however absurd to suggest that the members of a Committee would consider opposing themselves and to act like it is something surprising that they would not do such a thing.

Are you sure they are not withholding GOVERNMENT contracts? They are in a position of power and are perfectly capable of doing that.

Yes, the absurdity of believing the NRSC's own Mission statement...
