A composed, solitary gunman shot his way into Los Angeles International Airport on Friday morning, killing a transit security screener and injuring at least one more before being wounded by police and taken into custody. The incident was over in less than 10 minutes but caused chaos at the world's sixth-busiest airport and disrupted thousands of flights across the nation.
The suspected gunman was identified as Paul Anthony Ciancia, 23, a New Jersey native who lives in Los Angeles.
Authorities declined to discuss the gunman's motivation publicly. But a law enforcement official told The Times that a note was found on the gunman expressing "disappointment in the government" and noting that he had no interest in hurting "innocent people." Ciancia also sent a sibling a text message last week suggesting that he was prepared to die, officials said.
It appears the gunman targeted Transportation Security Administration agents, who are not armed. Authorities said he approached several people cowering in the airport terminal, pointed his gun at them, asked if they "were TSA" and then moved on without pulling the trigger if the answer was no. A witness said the gunman cursed the TSA repeatedly as he moved through the terminal."....

Besides the fact that they say he 'expected to die' and 'send a suicidal text' yet was allegedly wearing ballistic armor.
Actually, I recalled that the OWS-influenced Snowden used the word “patriot” to describe himself, too.
We’ll have to see how the press spins it.
I read he was concerned about The New World Order which is a concern on a much larger scale.
The shooter hated the TSA, so he has an excuse.
If he was anti Government, why did he go to LAX? Its not really a Government building.
He was prolly just some insane person with a death wish who went there hoping to go Suicide by cop.

Let’s look at a possibility:
The kid is 23 — probably has no job and no prospect for one.
Being from a family of entitled Democrats he may have applied to numerous government agencies for employment without success.
His last best hope may have been a position with the TSA and though he may have gone through the interviewing process he may have been at last turned down.
He thus targets the TSA.

There has been a renewed push on the Left to call progressives “patriots”. I was listening to the Ed Schultz Show when they encouraged listeners to have their kids apply for a VFW sponsored writing contest on patriotism. The prizes are money for college.

I believe the true diagnosis will once again be schizophrenia. Schizophrenics may parrot a whole host of grievances, but there is not a motive that rational people understand. They are crazy.
It pains me to see how rapidly everyone moves to assign political motives to the irrational actions of a madman. They blame guns, the tea party, and talk radio, so I understand the defensiveness, but don’t let them twist the truth. It’s not about politics and there is no easy solution to these individuals and legislating laws on the rational law a binding citizen won’t prevent this.
Every nation suffers the schizophrenics. I suspect many Islamic suicide bombers are mentally ill. Our media often make us think this is an American phenomenon, but it is not. Read about the school attacks in China.
Mentally ill people spout grievances, but the underlying diagnosis will remain mental illness.
